Fort Myers Flip in Ft.Myers/Naples

After the recent purchase from Beasley, Ft.Myers Broadcasting has flipped Tropical Playa 99.3 WWCN, to Contemporary Christian "Positively 99."

sad i cant find stream
Give it time. Fort Myers Broadcasting’s TV news stream on YouTube is still down from the cyberattack.

Since the beginning of the year, Fort Myers Broadcasting/Sun Broadcasting has moved all their radio and TV stations to a new facility, closed on the purchases of 5 stations, suffered a cyberattack, and is in the process closing on the purchase of the local Fox TV affiliate.

I have to imagine things are quite busy for them.

Based on Gina Birch’s Facebook post, recently acquired WJPT started broadcasting from Fort Myers Broadcasting’s (new) studios today. Incidentally, she used to work for their WINK-FM.

Sun Broadcasting also closed on their TV acquisition today and those employees (that remain) move to Fort Myers Broadcasting’s studios tomorrow.

I live in Naples. No stream yet. Musically, they sound like K-Love. Only liners, not live…but their liners are well produced, with emphasis on the local community.
Salem's Fish in Atlanta did pretty well 6+ against KLove. For reasons only Salem ownership understood they did sell all their Fish Stations to KLove. My wife like the Fish because it was guilt free. They didn't ask for donations "to keep KLove on the air". The sponcers did that.

I hope Positive 99 does good.

I suspect most folks would trade the 12+ minutes of commercials every hour for a couple of weeks of pledged drive each year.

I believe the pledge are more often than that.

I don't have a copy of the old ratings but in Atlanta, KLove never came close to The Fish.

KLove and the Fish were on the same tower, same antenna 1657 ft.HAAT. KLove was a pure Class C @ 77kw watts. The Fish was a C1 @ 24k watts. KLove had 3 times the power yet less than a half the 6+ listeners.

Even now Air1 (which took The Fish's place an EMF product too) beats KLove in Atlanta.

The Fish did very well considering the signal.

Last I checked, it was two weeks of pledge drives and plus a few days heading into the end of the year.

Per RadioInsight.com, WRXK has updated its playlist to focus on 90s & 00s rock.

The music selection reminds me a lot of 99.5 KISS in San Antonio (different ownership).

I like the move.
