Flipping

Add, IMHO, Indie. With the departure of the station manager and the apparent ending of the sales agreement with Magic Broadcasing, I see the 103.1's back in a simulcast with 97.5 as they did years ago.

If KDLD/KDLE are ending their sales agreement, is there any possibility they'd resurrect the dance format on 103.1?

103.1 is destined to dance. Hey, it's happened twice before! ;D

IF 103.1 Goes Back To Dance To Should Have Hip,Hop,Pop And Dance They Should Fix Signal Problem

Now I Can't Get 103.1 At ALL bACK tHEN i cOULD gET 103.1 sIGNAL pERFECT nOW nOTHING

PS 3rd Time The Charm?

PS What The Slogan Shoulds BE

Energy 103.1

Makes sense, David, and I thought the same when I heard Dawn Girocco was leaving. So if that does happen, would that be a teeeeny opening for 100.3 to add some 'edge' to their playlist and maybe add a specialty show like Jonesy's JukeBox to the weekend programming? Just a thought.

do You Think Power Should Put Dance On HD-2 Channel

No offense...but how many people own HD radios in Los Angeles to actually care what goes on an HD-2 Channel? And perhaps more importantly, can anyone show me a single HD-2 Channel in the country that generates a profit?

just that easy! why didn't anyone just "fix" it?
jeeeeez...my head hurts.

Just think about the possibilities. A bunch of us could get together, use the equity we have in our homes ( ;) ) and buy a bunch of really bad signal stations on the cheap, "fix their signals" and retire as millionaires.

Then again, maybe "fix" was used in the context I use when discussing my cat who was fixed some years ago and thus stopped peeing on the furniture.

David you just said a few days ago indie 1031 is billing more then any other thing that has been on that station why do yo now think it might be flipped? No matter what you put on that frequency it ain't gonna do any better then whats there now as far as billing goes.Hope your wrong!!!

SRF, do you really think it is going to make a difference?

As predicted from the beginning, The Sound is only here for a little while until Bonneville figures out just how big of an egg they laid. In the PPM world, it is going to become painfully obvious sooner rather than later.

What is surprising is if they were going to do AAA, why did they have to implement it so poorly? I want to like the station very much as it is just as much of a musical home as anything, but what they are doing is chasing off the folks like me who actually want to listen. The station is total snoozeville. Jonesy can help, but he can't carry a station. That has got to come from somewhere else.

I agree with the poster who suggested bringing back Pirate Radio - at least it would be fun and give us a reason to tune in.

I think you better look at the PPM results from San Francisco. Dance doesn't look good under the PPM.
Energy went from 19th diary to 26th PPM 18-34 and dropped from 21st diary to 31st PPM 18-49.

Theres a blurb on R&R this morning about Arbitron reissuing the latest PPM for San Francisco. Interesting to say the least, I guess they still can't get it right. Sad....Or are they afraid they might offend some of the subscribers to the new technology?

The issue is very minor. The latest language usage updates had not been applied to the July data, which is quite minor. Here is what they released:

Arbitron has discovered that the language usage population estimates reported in the July 2008 San Francisco and San Jose PPM Radio Market Reports (released on August 13) were not current for the July 2008 report period. Reported audience estimates were based on these population estimates and other weighting parameters that were not appropriately updated for July. As a result, reported audience estimates, to a limited degree, were understated in some instances and overstated in other instances.

Jose continues to grow significantly in PPM. It's huge in the I.E. and seeing nice growth in the L.A. metro. To broaden that signal would save them a lot of money and very likely make it an even bigger player in L.A.
