Flips for 2015?

If you had to pick a station(s) to flip in Sacto which would it be?

Speaking of "B", how about B92.5? :)

Not to pick on Clear Channel, but I would bet KFBK on 93.1 isn't exactly a lock for the long-term. Personally, I don't get the FM simulcast thing; seems like a waste of a perfectly good signal that could be generating better money with a different product. I know many top rated AMs are doing it now, but still many have not (KFI, KNX, KGO, KNBR in California come to mind, all of which are huge brands).

Good call with 93.1. That's a tough one, the signal just falls short.

If and when am 1470 sells there will certainly be a chage there. My votes would be for an oldies station such as KVIN 920, KOKO 94 or KYNO 1430. They are all on the air and have advertizing.

I visited Sacramento for the first time a few months ago. Nice area and I'm thinking of moving there. Anyhow, could the city support an FM sports station, in addition to the two AMs and KNBR? Big D mentioned 93.1 as a candidate for a possible flip. Since CC owns it, they could go Fox Sports (since CC, via its Premiere Radio Network, runs FSR) and have FM sports to themselves. I see that the signal rimshots Sacramento from the east. Would this pose a challenge?

I don't think Sacramento can support an FM sports talker and I most certainly don't think iHeart would be the one to give it a try. Aside from the Kings, we just don't have a lot of "noteworthy" sports compared to the Bay Area.

Agreed. Sacramento mostly looks 'west' for sports and KNBR does a great job covering Giants/49ers/Warriors. We have ESPN 1320 and Sports 1140 that are full time sports. 1320 is also on 98.5-HD2 and 1140 on 105.1-HD3. That's the closest Sacramento is getting to FM sports talk.

What about flipping one of their stations to tripple-A?

Sorry, I couldn't resist.
