Flow 93.5

Ahhhh...a station that's still worth listening to, yet losing its direction...Bell flipping it to The Bounce once its license renewal comes around? Possibly...but that's overkill in the GTA...

Bounce would be a good cookie cutter, but I think there may be another plan to sell Flow. It's hard to say what the plan is.
They're still trying to bug the CRTC, pitching a revised plan to purchase Astral...
 
I really hope Flow gets sold to someone local. I know Milestone offloaded it to Bell, but I really think someone local is the true savior for Canada's first All-Urban station.

I don't think I fully understand. Someone local? As in a G98.7/Flow combo maybe?
Or do you mean local with deeper pockets?

Durham Radio inc (owner of KX 94.7 Hamilton and KX 96 Oshawa Country) has deeper pockets.
Perhaps they would LOVE to own Flow and switch it over to Country?
That's strictly a guess though.
 
Something like a G/Flow combo. Don't know if Gordon has the money to buy it though. Probably someone local that does have a ton of money, like Znamier, but I highly doubt it. Maybe Rock 95?

If Durham grabbed it and flipped to Country, I would be REALLY surprised. Do people that live deep in the city really listen to Country (except outlying areas)?

Rock 95 will own the new Indy 88.1 FM in Toronto. They could use a second FM in the market while they're at it.
However, will Flow be sold on it's own or as a Flow/Boom combo? If so, that's too many stations for Rock 95 to own.

meaning, competition with itself?

I can answer the first part of that question.

Flow would be a younger-emphasizing station, and hopefully shift back towards a pure Urban direction. G would be a complete full-service Urban AC, but probably take out the Hip Hop tracks they play. (By the way, G does a great job with the community. This is what radio should be!) Some markets in the US have this, where a Mainstream Urban complements an Urban AC or the other way around.

Unfortunately, they both don't cover the market entirely, as G, in the northeast side of T-Dot, is often interfered with CBC's repeater in Peterborough (also on 98.7).
