Floyd Wright of WDRC-FM (102.9) had a heart attack this past Saturday, according to a Facebook post by former radio personality Sebastian. Here's hoping for a full recovery!
Please respect his privacy. Roger Anthony, please remove your post. Sebastian is an idiot and it's a potentially damaging thing to discuss someone's health problems publicly this way.
I had the honor of working with Floyd at 13-WAVZ and KC-101. He is a professional broadcaster and nice guy. My sincere wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
I know I'm looking forward to his recovery and return to the air. Even after all these years he's still enjoyable to listen to. I still have fond memories of him at KC101 back in the day.
I remember back in 1980s Floyd did some weekend work at WYNY in NYC when it was an AC station at 97.1 on the dial. I certainly wish him a full and speedy recovery.
Confirmation of what a creep Sebastian is: DRC-FM is telling listeners who ask about Floyd on the Facebook page only that "he's taking some time off." Obviously he and the station don't want a private medical matter made public.
As a matter of fact, Sebastian DID have the permission and was a point person for friends who needed information that didn't know what had happened. If you don't know the truth, don't assume you do. Let's have a little common courtesy.
