Flurry Due

Ah, the summer doldrums... Too hot to hang on the computer... Too hot to debate...

Expect a break in the R-I summer vacation. New book due out tomorrow. A little early to see the effect of the Jack Attack, but it will be interesting to see if the "trends" from the Winter book continue. I'm sure WYRK and WBLK hope so. 97-Rock & The Lake, not so much...

This will be a two-thirds book for Jack, enough to make an extrapolation (educated guess) as to what the format is doing and what stations are affected by it. My guess is 97, 104 and Star will feel the heat. The Lake is wretched enough as it is. Wouldn't it be a bit of a hoot if Jack kicked a hole in WJYE? It happened in LA where Jack took a small bite out of Infinity's own AC.

One wonders if Buffalo Jack will make as much of a splash as the LA Jack. Check the LA board for news and reviews.

Kicking in my 2 cents...you'll see little change from the past performance of 92.9. They really haven't shifted their target audience, just shooting for it with different ammo...and will probably get the same result against the competition.

Probably a similar fate for Fickle in Rochester...a somewhat different demo profile from its predecessor at 93.3 (WBBF), more female listening, but about the same size audience.
