So has Tommy Chuck nuked, and crushed the spirit and the morale in Tampa like his last stop? I did not see FLZ numbers, but we all figured, if anybody could bring them down, it would be him from the inside, not anybody from the outside.
WFLZ's numbers are actually up from 5.5 to 6.0 which is the highest numbers they have had in some time. I'm sure lots of credit still goes to Kane and Booger. Tommy has only been there since January. From what I've heard, he is a good guy and it would be hard for anyone to mess up the ratings of FLZ with MJ still doing the morning show.
whew, yea, Chuck is a great guy, you should hear how still beloved he is in the halls of CC / Orlando
Linda Byrd chringes when you bring him up, as well as what is left of what was once, a truly great CHR radio station. They have a betting pool going on when his ship sinks into Tampa bay
The guy you are talking about was in Orlando for less than a year and then got promoted. I guess the top brass at CC don't share your opinion. WFLZ isn't exactly a station you turn over to a bad program director. WXXL wasn't in good shape when he arrived. Remember Adam Cook who got busted for soliciting what he thought was a 14 year old girl online? That station needed an overhaul bad.
WFLZ isn't what it once was so turning over the keys to that "legendary" radio station isn't really that big of a deal. It's just another cookie cutter Clear Channel CHR that sounds exactly the same as all the rest. It doesn't really matter who's name is on the PD office door. Same goes for 98 Rock. I've yet to see this Doubledown guy do anything to turn this station around. Oh... I guess they changed the logos. Lame.
The top brass at what wont be CC ........ know Chuck is a yes man who will work for 50 grand. They dont promote independent thinkers. Yea, Cook was a nut. But the talent was some of the best in any of there markets. he nuked the halls, and the " top brass" in that building shiver at his name. the boy took on a man's job . you watch. All that is left at XL are yes-men.......and thats what he is, a lap dog who's last orginal idea was what panties to put on today
