According to latest ratings...
2.6 12+ for FM 100
Shouldn't the spring book be the big one for a Hot AC?
I am sure they have better demos in their target...
I would hope.
I think Ron & Bucco do a good job... better than the ratings.
How are they going to play in a PPM world?
 
I remember when all you had was an AM radio in your car and you could buy an FM converter and get gorgeous kalf fidelity mono FM on AM with maybe 5 or 6 kHz bandwidth, and not getting the goods from my date because she thought my radio was cheesy so I must be too. And it was and so was I.
 
I remember Ronald Reagan's second term.

That's about the last time FM100 was a solid performer.

One of the most powerful FM stations in America now finds themselves in 15th place.

They have a 2.6 share of the market.

And that is UP from their last book.

When is someone in a nice office in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania going to blow this thing up?
 
Maybe never...remember...they're the brainiacs who decided to keep paying outrageous salaries to mediocre air staff simply based on "heritage." (and let more talented/less paid staff go)
i think it's safe to say that "FM100" isn't really "heritage" anymore...it has a wonderful "history" though!
It has become a HUGE waste of 300,000 watts...sadly, the only people listening to it anymore are a few of those whose Mom had it on in the car while driving them to elementary/junior high school. (And some of the Moms, still too I guess)
 
Although I have no way to verify it, I've always been told FM 100 not only outbills its ratings share but outbills it significantly. As for how it will do when PPM hits, they're probably hoping it does what KYKY in St. Louis did. It went from about where FM 100 is today and saw its numbers go up 300%.

I was up in the Kennett area last week. FM100 was the only Memphis station I could hear at all other than bits and pieces of Kix. 100 was loud and clear. I guess they got it fixed.

That's good to hear. Down south of Batesville it tends to get hammered by the station in Jackson. Many mornings I can pull out a portable radio and get Jackson with the antenna at vertical and Memphis with it at horizontal. Neat party trick. :)

I thought that someone else wrote on here a while back that FM100 had a new antenna installed when the issue occurred.

I used to listen to FM100 when I visited SW Arkansas in the summer. This was during the 80s and was of course done with an outdoor TV antenna at 35-40ft pointing south to receive Texarkana, Shreveport, and Arkadelphia.

There would be long and slow fades. The signal was weak but you could listen fine.

This was 230 air miles from Memphis.
