FM 92.1 HUH?

New call letters for 92.1 are on the way too. WFUZ.

I don't get 100.1 in my area or 100.5. Did they flip too?

And their next format will be by in about six months...unless they ordered stationery with this logo on it, in which case give it eight months to a year.

I wonder if they will follow by making 100.5 a simulcast of ESPN like many of the other Shamrock translators, or will they keep it as a 92.1 simulcast to cover some of the nulls that 100.1 took care of.

Is anyone actually listening?

The station certainly sounds fresher than anything TS has had on that frequency in a good long while...but it's going to take a good amount of time and money to get people to start tuning in. I don't know if this is what I would have done if I were in charge but it's definitely a step in the right direction.

Anyone have any thoughts on the programming?

Fresh? I guess no talk, no commercials and non-stop music is your thing. But at some point they have to start playing spots and without a moring jock and localization this is going to sound really bad. No satellite format in this market has ever succeeded. Do you really think this foramt.. any format is going to make a mark? It's a dumping ground for spots that they sell on another format. "Hey, if you pay just a little more.. we'll throw in a schedule of spots on 92.1!" That's all these stations are used for.

The call sign change took effect today, not only did 92.1 get WFUZ, but 100.1 is now the parking lot for the WQFM calls.

Well, they brought in a PD for Rock 107 who programmed Modern Rock radio in Albany before he came here, so it was almost bound to happen...though it's one less Oldies option now on the FM dial, and I know a lot of folks who ain't happy. I can't imagine that this will last, I don't see 97.9 being in danger.

But splitting 92.1 and 100.1 is the best idea in recent history. Too redundant, and it's good to hear Sports/Talk on another FM!

92.1 is now on WEZX HD2...I'd love some signal reports....I'll be in Edwardsville and Plymouth Twp. midday today. There is one bad spot so far...along 309 where it goes under 81; also some dropouts in part of downtown between bldgs. Signal prop of HD2 is quite interesting. In much of Scranton city the HD2 signal is very very good. This particular HD2 is at -15 dB (the original level was -20 dB) which is more than double the original HD signal level. Of course Rock107 is on the HD1. Froggy's HD2 is at -14 dB (I think) and sounds really good. WILK-FM's HD is at -14 dB or greater and sounds good. Not sure about KRZ's or WDMT's HD's.

The HD 2 is very good in the middle of the valley (Pittston twp, Avoca), good by Wyoming Valley mall, mostly good in Kingston and Edwardsville. It cuts out a lot in Wilkes-barre Township and not good around Kmart there.
