Caught that this morning... was playing with TV mostly, though.

Not very long distance, but nice and solid. Had Monroe, LA snow-free. DTV from Huntsville and Birmingham. The usual suspects from Jackson, MS. No biggie, though.

Ordinarily, I would have been on 144 MHz ham, but, my rotor is stuck NW. Big, new tower project now underway. Bought two (big-a**) antennas this afternoon.

Forecast maps shows the possibility of minor enhancement again tonight and in the AM. We'll see.

I got some of that opening here in AL around noon CDT. The only new catch I had was 97.5 WLLX-Lawrenceburg, TN, but I was getting WWOG and WGSQ from Cookeville and WWTN and WNRQ from Nashville as well as a few stations from the Florence/Muscle Shoals area. I'm hoping it'll pick back up a little tonight and bring in more TN/KY stations.

I live in South Middle Tennessee, about 80 miles south east of Nashville. I couldn't pick up a single local FM station, including 97.5, but got almost all of Nashville, Huntsville, Memphis and more. Usually I can receive about 3 FM stations total. Only Nashville station I couldn't get was 97.1.

updated my post on the dx but not this on.. later on i got these

WSYE HOUSTON MS like a local on 93.3
KQUS-FM HOT SPRINGS AR fighting with WWMS OXFORD MS

on tv i had Nashville on 58
Huntsville on 54
Birmingham on 17,21,33 (33 is coming in pretty well all night)
Little Rock on 11 / can't decode the HD stream but the tv knows its there
Starkville MS on 2
i see something on 15 i guess thats WXVT
WMAO 23 GREENWOOD MS
WRBJ 34 Magee MS
WMAW 14 Meridian
WCBI DT COLUMBUS ( a freq catch )
WKRN DT but unable to decode got a few pixels here and there
WABG DT Greenwood
KATV 7 Little Rock
on 16 i have Jackson Tn, Jackson Ms, & Little Rock often audio and video are from diff channels
I got the WJKT HD FOR A FEW SECONDS ALSO
i have a cm 4228 inside my attic but have terrible reception due to an 18 story building accross the street that makes my locals tough to receive well

That's much the same stuff I was getting with a few exceptions. A few more Birminghams, and my TV was TRYING to decode KNOE-DT, but simply couldn't pull it off. Again, it was a ho-hum sort of opening. But, it's the best we have had since the big stuff back in early Summer.

All I have for TV is a Radio Shack antenna in my attic, surrounded by a couple of amateur verticals. Soon, though, my house will be decorated by 35' of Rohn 45 (max. under Germantown Code), with about 15' of Schedule 80 water pipe, holding up some manly antennas. I may stick some TV or FM on an accessory arm, but real estate above the rotator is just too valuable.

I had squiggly lines behind KAIT at the same time i had the 2 fms from Monroe but I only have a UHF up there and i didnt feel like going up there and turning it around.. the 4228 is better on 7-13 than you'd think it would be... but doesnt do well on the higher uhf channels....
54 / 58 where mostly audio with a very weak pq... not being outdoor doesnt help signal strength much either...

I miss living down in the delta on the banks of Moon Lake and having my r/shack vu210 at about 45ft... ( the ice storm in 94 took care of the antenna but i had moved to memphis by then)
It was a great place for an antenna... i got 2 channels on most of the vhf band and a a few places on uhf depending on where i pointed...
2 on 40 & 3 on 16

I could get memphis little rock tup/columbus jonesboro el dorado/monroe jackson tn all pretty well... often at night on uhf i could get the n alabama pretty well often nashville, shreveport, meridian, birmingham, and hattiesburg/laurel

BTW: You may have noticed very recently that the LPTV in Bartlett on 67 has moved to 26. The signal is much improved, since it received a major power upgrade.

Awesome, now I can shop 24/7 without having to use cable TV.
