Lafayette FM band is wide open this morning...

Getting a local quality signal of WRNO 99.5, 105.3 WWL-FM and WABD 97.5 Mobile this morning in Ville Platte (just north of Lafayette). Also getting solid reception of non-usual visitors from the Baton Rouge area: KQXL 106.5, WEMX, 94.1, and WRQQ 103.3

Almost all distant locals are buried under another signal and are mostly non-existent.

Edit: getting Kicker 108 (107.9) WZKX over 100kw KHXT Lafayette so it's definitely strong out there today

Also getting WZNS 96.5 Fort Walton Beach over a usual weak KPEL-FM + 97X WYYX 97.7 Bonifay/Panama City over Class A KAPB Marksville that's only 29 mi away.

The Gulf has been wide open all this spring... there is a DXer in Teziutlan, Puebla (about 50 miles inland between the Gulf and Mexico City) who's been posting catches on his car radio from Texas to Florida practically every night.

I heard Q93 (WQUE New Orleans) in Opelousas earlier today.

The FM band is still wide open. Im in slaughter and i just caught Mobile’s 92.9 and 97.5. I also caught 106.3 from Hattiesburg, which is very unusual because of KQXL interference. I also caught a couple stations from Jackson and a few K-Loves. WZKX is booming in over KHXT as usual
