Very similar to what I hear in Pleasant View (not surprising as I'm only about 20 miles west of Springfield). A few notes:

89.9 WAYW Poor New Johnsonville TN 68.7 miles at 3,100 watts or WSOF Poor Madisonville KY 68.0 miles at 68.0 miles at 39,000 watts

WSOF is by far dominant here.

92.3 WDEF Poor Chattanooga TN 128.5 miles at 97,000 watts or WYNU Poor Milan TN 114.0 miles at 100,000 watts

Usually all WYNU here.

92.5 WBKR Fair Owensboro KY 77.3 miles at 91,000 watts

This one is essentially a local here...

92.7 WJXA Slop
92.9 WJXA Good Nashville TN 26.7 miles at 97,000 watts
93.1 WJXA Slop or WWGM Poor Alamo TN 133.1 miles at 14,000 watts (Fair with Tropo Enhancement)

On a more selective (i.e., HD) radio WTAO 92.7 Herrin IL and WWGM are regular here. On an analog radio it's as you mention.

94.7 WGSQ Fair Cookeville TN 88.4 miles at 100,000 watts

Usually about even with Mayfield KY here.

98.3 WRIK Poor Metropolis IL 91.7 miles at 100,000 watts (Fair with Tropo Enhancement) or WKSR Poor Loretto TN 96.2 miles at 18,000 watts

WKSR is rare here. WRIK is fair to good.

99.1 WAHR Poor Huntsville AL 118.4 miles at 100,000 watts

I usually have a Kentucky station here, forget the calls.

99.9 W260BT (WKLX) Poor Glasgow KY 53.9 miles at 250 watts (Fair with Tropo Enhancement)

I don't think I've heard this station, maybe once or twice during tropo.

101.7 WTPR Poor McKinnon TN 60.9 miles at 1,800 watts (Fair with Tropo Enhancement)
102.1 W271AB (WPRT) Poor Nashville TN 24.8 miles at 250 watts or WLCT Poor Lafayette TN 48.5 miles at 6,000 watts

You haven't heard the 101.9 Clarksville translator of WQZQ 1550 AM? It's pretty darned strong over here.

105.5 W288BG (KAWZ) Poor Lebanon TN 36.8 miles at 10 watts

Again, rare here, heard maybe once.

Its amazing how there are still a few differences between us. Yes I get that one I just wasnt sure what to classify it since I didnt see anything online about it. I only get WTAO during a good tropo opening. WRIK is more common than WKSR but it still comes in sometimes. The 105.5 translator only comes in in the southern half of town. I do my dxing in 2 different parts of town one on the northeastern part of Springfield near the High School and the other one on the southern end near the Wal-Mart where I work. I would love to get your e-mail so that we can exchange alerts for the band openings since we live so close to each other. I notice though the openings usually dont go east.

I've got family in Crossville and this bandscan looks a lot different from there, obviously. It's been a couple of years since I've been there so I can't really re-construct it. I will say I've recieved WWTN from east of there.

Email address is on the bottom of my website http://www.w9wi.com.

I've "tag-team DXd" with a fellow down in Murfreesboro via IRC. Worked pretty well. (I was actually surprised how much of what we were hearing was in common during a skip opening)

Referring to Clarksville 101.9? It's W270BK, located on the AM tower just across the river from the center of town. (looks like I've got to update my site as I've got it listed carrying WVNS 102.5)

It's indeed rare to see an opening go across the Cumberland Plateau. Probably the most common signal from east of Cookeville is 94.9 Greeneville, which is really a pretty good haul! I think I've heard the two major Asheville NC stations (99.9 and 106.9) each precisely once. Knoxville has made the trip but it's RARE.

I usually DX with a large (9-element) but low (about 7 feet) antenna -- but I recently acquired a Sony XDR-F1HD receiver which has *amazing* selectivity.

Back in the early 1970's, 106.9 from NC was into Cincinnati on a semi-regular basis at night after Louisville & most other 106.9's signed off. In south-central Indiana, 99.9 (Kiss Country?) from Asheville has been in maybe a dozen times that I've caught it over the past 30 years. Stepping back to the pre 80-90 days, the farthest thing I could hear daily was WBBQ 104.3 Augusta,GA (same calls back then as well) at almost 450 miles. The frequency was clear & if I aimed the Stereo Probe 9 FM Yagi at 60' toward it & listened to the Heath AJ-15, it would fade out of the noise at least once every 15 minutes or so. Now it would take an act of congress to hear WBBQ here.

It's certainly become a lot more difficult to hear those ultra-long-haul signals without an opening...

94.9 is still fairly open over here. If I point my antenna west and park my receiver on that frequency, within 20 minutes I *will* hear the Little Rock station. That's somewhere between 300 and 350 miles.
