Cheers!

Those stations from Bellingham and Vancouver for which you put 'tropo alert' - were the conditions ripe for tropo or are you simply basing the comment on distance?

I ask because, from a mountain ridge or other elevated location with good line-of-sight, 120+ mile catches of class B or C stations are not all that unusual in the west. On the surface of it, I wouldn't be that shocked to get some reception from Vancouver or Victoria from a location like Stampede Pass - at least at or near the top of it....facing west.

Yeah, but 120+ mile reception is almost nada in Seattle because of low elevation, and summer is the only time when the band "opens up" to TROPO.

But wouldn't your location at Stampede Pass gives you that extra elevation and line of sight to pull in a 120 mile catch on most days?

If I recall correctly, that location is a good 2,000 feet above the Puget Sound region - so you would expect to pull in many stations that sail over the heads of those in the Seattle area. Or am I wrong about that?

Yes, because over North Bend pulling in to 468th Ave SE (Exit 34) on I-90, almost everything from Victoria/Vancouver/NW Wash. pulled in, like CBU-FM1 on 92.1 was almost clear as a bell!!! Same with KBCS out of Bellevue, and CIOC Victoria, and others too.
