I picked up a bunch of stations tonight in my car on the way home. A mix of Austin, the Hill Country, Corpus, and the valley. I am also assuming that I was getting FM stations from Mexico!
106.1 Spanish AC, IDed themselves at Stereo Heat
101.5 Dgital
107.1-La Mas Buena
91.1-Spanish, unknown ID
90.1-spanish, overriding KSYM
91.5-Easy listening and some spanish, I am assuming it's a religious station
93.1-La Caliente-regional mexican, the call letters contained X at the beginning, so I am assuming it's from Mexico
104.9-rhythmic oldies. one of the towns IDed from a caller waas La camina (I think)
105.9-KUKA, overriding KMFR 105.9 Simulcast
105.7-spanish religious
89.5-KLUX
92.7-KBAY-corpus
93.9-Oldies 93
94.9-Jammin 94.9 Laredo..yes they are also under construction
95.5-Z95 Corpus
94.5-Q94 McAllen I think
96.5-AC station in Corpus, came in clear...this is the frequency I use for my transmitter
99.9-KSAB

if anyone can clarify any stations, please do so

Great catches, I caught KVLY's HD Signal last night, thats about a 260 mile skip for me. I also was able to pick up Jammin 94.9, but I can pick them up most anytime of the day. I didnt do much DX'n yet, I need to start again.

every now and then i get power 106.7 thats 200 + miles away, and stations from Monterrey, Mexico... i live in the rio grande valley.

Its most likely due to sporadic E layer, usually happens around spring and fall change of seasons. In addition to what you heard, I also got 102.3, 95.5, 93.9 Corpus, 96.5 - 96.7 Austin, 104.1 Houston (KRBE still?) , 94.3 (?), 94.5 (?), 105.9 (KMFR) , 107.1 Austin, 107.9 KFAN? The best time to listen is right before sunrise/sunset. I can usually get 87.7 Channel 6 audio Corpus in the early morning. Try 107.1 & 87.9 when on the major interstates to hear whats on XM or Sirius FM mobiles from passing autos. Sometimes if one with XM or Sr follows me all the way downtown I can hear it loud and clear. Its usually good for up to 5 or 6 car lengths. But what I have heard for the past year isn't worth paying for. It sounds just as dull and boring as what we have around us for free.

,..

Sporadic-E has a minimum distance, on the order of 500 miles. You won't get any DX closer than that via that mode.

Closer DX is usually via "tropospheric" propagation. Tropo has no minimum distance. (it will occasionally enhance reception of weak stations within two dozen miles or so)

Tropo happens in a lower layer of the atmosphere, where weather happens, and can often be related to specific weather events. Sporadic-E happens in a higher layer (the same place that's responsible for nighttime long-distance AM reception); science doesn't know why it happens. (though plenty of people will claim they know!)

I was able to catch XHVTH 107.1 and XHAAA 93.1 all the way over here in College Station. I think that's pretty impressive for these stations that are weak (even though XHAAA has 100,000 watts) and don't even cover all of the valley.

It is actually, Stereo Hits.

Stereo Hits 106.1 XHITS-FM / Monterrey N.L.
106.1 Mhz. 24 Horas, Balada Español.
Multimedios Radio

I pick this up every now and then as well.
