FM DX in Hudson Valley Monday

Monday July 18th DX:

Finally saw some E-skip here in the Hudson Valley Monday afternoon and evening, in and out for several hours. It was strongest when I turned the radio on at 7pm, with a number of signals coming through on the lower half of the FM band.

New logs:

WDJC-93.7 Birmingham, AL, religious, with call letters, mentioning being a family station, at 7:08pm. 913 miles.
WYYW-95.1 Marion, MS assumed to be the one IDing as “Continuous Country 95.1” at 7:13pm. 1042 miles.
WMAB-89.9 Mississippi State, MS, assumed to be the one ending “Sound and Spirit” program at 8:29pm. This syndicated program is aired on most stations on Sundays: only Mississippi Public Broadcasting airs it Monday evening. 1016 miles.
KVKI-96.5 Shreveport, LA with Delilah at 9:00pm. Delilah’s only station on 96.5. 1265 miles. Louisiana #24.

On 89.5 I had two unID religious stations around 3:30pm. The dominant one was loosely segueing music, no talk at all. May have been tracking a CD. Signal was quite good for 10 minutes. Possibly Florida. Also on 89.5, at 8:52pm I had BBN. Lots of BBN outlets on 89.5, although this could well have been KYFL-LA just logged here at the end of May.

Total log since May 2003 now at 636 stations.<P ID="signature">______________
