Been getting bunches of stuff here as well, but I haven't caught anything new in a while(except for the 89.7 pirate I mentioned on the Alabama board, which has to be really close to me and not DX). Hepburn's Friday forecast for Alabama looks sweet for potential openings to the south, though. I'm hoping for some new Florida catches.

The previous poster did this, but when you type these PLEASE PUT WHERE YOU ARE!!

The true "dead of winter" DX finally started last night.

As y'all know, there is a minor sporadic-E peak right around the solstice, running into early January. While a bit late, the first real opening popped up last night.

I am not a big FM DXer (I'm a ham and do other stuff), I did see several loggings other folks were making. One FM hobbyist in S. Texas noted activity make it to the top of the band with stations from the Midwest clogging the dial.

Of course, this stuff tends to cluster. It would not be surprising at all to see more of the same today.

I was sitting in my car at the bank drive through going through stations and was picking up better then half of the Milwaukee FM's 40 miles SW of Chicago in Joliet. 103.7 WXSS, 94.5 WKTI, and 102.9 the hog were really clear with no static all the others for the most part were audible at times except for 97.3 the brew because of a local pirate station here that is still on the air. I also noticed that the Chicago stations had alot of static on them and a couple were very bad with another station trying to over take them but nothing ever came in clear enough to I.D. them.

Jeremy,
That's awesome DX if you live in San Diego, but not so noteworthy if you live in Benton Harbor. Please list where you are - so we have an idea. Thanks!

while sitting in the parking lot while my mother had her hair done in the NorthEast part of Huntsville I was hearing:
WGFX 104.5 Gallatin TN (RDS was showing)
WCJK 96.3 Nashville TN (RDS)
WNRQ 105.9 Nashville TN
WBPT 106.9 Birmingham AL
WSIX 97.9 Nashville TN (RDS)
WRAX 100.5 Helena AL (RDS)
WZZK 104.7 Birmingham
Venus FM 102.5 Nashville (RDS) whatever the calls are, too lazy to look them up right now

this morning while listening to WNRQ, 105.9 from Memphis kept cutting in

Forgot to list my location. My bad.

Kenosha, WI. Across Lake Michigan which runs about 90 miles across. Plus a drive to Grand Rapids which would probably be about another 30-40<P ID="signature">______________
