FM DX via Meteor Scatter

This morning (4/21) I managed to add WBNO-100.9 Bryan, Ohio to my DX log, received by Meteor Scatter at 9:19am. I just heard the name of a local (Bryan) realtor, and got confirmation from WBNO that this was aired on their station. Distance is 553 miles. Ohio is very rare here: this is only Ohio #2 on FM.

The peak of the Lyrid Meteor Shower is tonight and Friday. Be sure you have a recorder going, because the bursts come and go in an instant. You have to be patient to hear anything more than a blip. Most scatter seems to be between 450 and 900 miles.

Wow! Good catch! WBNO is a semi-local for me!

Where are you located?

My location is Poughkeepsie, NY. Sorry for not including it in the post.

What is your other Ohio logging?

I've logged four (Tropo: WTSS, WWSE, WKSE.. Es: 96.9 from Long Island) from the Empire State, and they are one of the few states i've logged via Tr and Es.

My other Ohio FM logging is WMVX-106.5 "Mix 106.5" Cleveland via tropo in 2007. At the time I was quite certain of it, but a year later when I heard CIKX-106.7 "Mix 106" in Owen Sound, Ontario, I started having a few doubts. I don't have a recording of WMVX, and I'm not sure now how much I heard of them.

Good going on New York State. For me Michigan is quite unique: The only state I've received via tropo, E Skip and Meteor Scatter on FM. And on DTV, Michigan is one of only two states that I've received on tropo and E Skip. (Now all I have to do is log DTV from Michigan via Meteor Scatter!!) :D

I can't wait for E-Skip season to being, both for FM and DTV.
