FM E-skip video bandscan 7-24-12

Here's what I can ID Buckeyes...

88.5: WVTW "Radio IQ" Charlottesville, VA. Only 1000w!
88.9: WUND Manteo, NC "North Carolina Public Radio"
92.7: WBNK New Bern, NC severe wx warning for Eastern NC
93.3: WGWD Jacksonville, FL w/ Michael Savage, I don't think there are any others in skip range
96.3: WRHT Morehead City, NC "Thunder Country 96.3"
98.9: Likely WNBR Windsor, NC with classic country
100.3: Wonder what the heck "Love Me the Right Way" is?

Very interesting bandscans...last year, I caught "a" Big Fish...that is WBNK last year via tropo here in northern VA. WBNK IDs itself as "The Big Fish." Also, NOAA severe weather warnings can give a good clue where the station is.

I look up 'Rub Me the Right Way' that was heard on 100.3 and it's a massage parlor, located in Lubbock, TX. 100.3 there is KMMX. The phone number given in the ad matched what I found online. There must have been multiple E-skip openings here in Ohio as the other stations I was getting were VA/NC (as far as I know). Also I'm very curious as to where '99.3 the Beat' is located that I was getting. There's a station in Arizona with that name.

I had WVTW 88.5/Charlottesville, VA coming in here. I checked the straight-line distance from here in Vermilion, OH to there and it is only 312 miles! How rare is that to get an FM station via e-skip from that short of a distance??

Short distance e skip is possible with a high MUF. It was reported to be over 200 MHz on the 24th. Fairly rare.
