FM Exciter

Hi All:

Anyone have a used analog fm exciter? I'm looking for a freq. agile. Bext FX20 or similar.

I need it for a backup rig at one of my contracts (Collins 1KW).

I have looked on line and found one but the company won't return phone calls.

Thanks

Send e mail to Nicom thru their site...it is similar to Bext, and they often have
demos for sale...plus, they will answer your e mail. Tnx JBI

One of my client stations has a surplus
Bext LEX 30 for sale (Nov. 2003 vintage).
Freq agile...front panel LCD menu programable.

In case you missed it...
they also have a nice Harris FM 25K available too...
which can be seen at:

nice Harris FM 25K

Well, which is it? :):)

Seriously, I notice from the icture, that radio still has the original drive amps fitted. Does it have tyhe Cal Amp mod in it, or is it still soldiering along on the front panel amps and 'paint can' combiner?

And, are the mods all accomplished on it?

Hi Guys...
To answer the Harris FM 25K questions...
They do have the Harris 300 watt broadband IPA rack-mount upgrade amp (w/ cables) and would consider including it
(although there was some discussion about using it for a backup amp for their main tx).

It was very well maintained...
more as a lab test instrument than a 24/7 thirty-two year workhorse....
which is why it has ~ 1.3 years of total service and the "nice" adj.

Not sure about the mods (I would think they did all of them)...
but for serious buyer-folks
I can put you in touch with one of the techs who maintained it over the years and knows a lot more than I do on that one.

Bottom line:
If your station can afford $85,000+ for new...this is obviously NOT for you....
but if you need that kind of power and have a much tighter budget...or have one and want another...
...or just need a decent well maintained aux / alternate main...etc....
it may be worth a look....and a bid...
especially if you ever considered another one that's been cranking away 24/7 for 35+ years....
This is a rather rare young pup....from 1985. ;D
