FM Frequency of The Week: 100.7

What do you guys get on 100.7?

For me, I've gotten

SEATTLE
Only local KKWF Seattle (Country)

YAKIMA APRIL 2010
Very weak KHSS Athena, OR (Walla Walla area, religious o/u KARY 100.9 slop)

-crainbebo

For me,

100.7 WZBA Baltimore, rimshot, "The Bay" though the station is a bit farther away from the Chesapeake Bay. Plays Classic rock

WQPO Harrisonburg 90 miles away, Top 40, sometimes I hear it though very weak

rare tropo WRVA-FM 100.7 Wake Forest, NC (east of Raleigh), classic hits, great big signal over there, and WZXL in southern NJ with rock.

LSB noise from KUFO (101.1). If I tune on the Kenwood in the truck (a very wide tuner) I can also intercept a little bit of combined USB and IBAC spillover from KKRZ. That assumes I am sitting stationary in the carport in front of the apartment (as I am right now) and not barrelling down the highway.

Most of the time in the LA area I get KFMB-FM "100.7 Jack FM" from San Diego. Occasionally, "KHAY Country 100.7" from Oxnard-Ventura comes in aswell.

Local WMMS/Cleveland, of course.

Was in Toledo long enough recently to hear W264AK, the once and again "100.7 the Zone". It got out pretty good for an 82 watt translator.

KTHU Thunder 100.7 from Chico CA 265 miles away, picked it up on my Pioneer super tuner 3 car stereo parked in my driveway in Clovis CA. They are Classic Rock.

Also KPRC Salinas has been received as well.

KTHU seems to be more powerful than the other Chico Stations, when I was in Shasta City, about 70 miles from Redding, KTHU was one of the strongest singnals all week.

In Dayton it's always religious WEEC but after the Big Wind (Hurricane Ike remnants) knocked them off the air for a few days, I was able to hear WMMS and briefly WCYO in Kentucky

Here in Poughkeepsie, NY, we have strong semi local WHUD Peekskill, NY, a full class B at 30 miles.

Other stations DXed on 100.7:

KJYL - Eagle Grove, IA
WZLX - Boston, MA
KIKV - Sauk Center, MN
KGBI - Omaha, NE "The Bridge" - most-distant station on 100.7 at 1154 miles
WZXL - Wildwood, NJ "South Jersey's Rock Station" (heard one time when WHUD was off the air)
WLEV - Allentown, PA "Soft Rock 100.7"

And the following two were added this February when WHUD was off the air for a few hours after their generator ran out of fuel after a big snow storm....

WKVU - Utica, NY "K-Love"
CBFX - Montreal, Quebec "Espace Musique"

From Libertyville, IL, 100.7 is generally a moderate to strong WKKV Racine/Milwaukee.

However, when WKKV was down recently, we could also pick up W264BF Chicago (translator of God Squad frequency glutton WHLP) and WBYT Elkhart, IN.

W264BF has an interesting setup: a mere 2 watts, but from 1450' AAT! How it was ever allowed to be so short-spaced with WKKV and WBYT is beyond me.

From Coldwater, MI:

I'm right in the middle of the 'battle zone' between WITL in Lansing, MI (55 miles) and WBYT in Mishawaka, IN (65 miles).

I can also get..
WMMS- Cleveland, OH- Rock/The Buzzard (175 miles)
WEEC- Springfield, OH- Religious (150 miles)
WKKV- Racine, WI- Urban/V-100 (170 miles)
CKUE- Windsor, ON- Rock- (110 miles)

Not a very active frequency here..
