FM Frequency of the Week: 101.1

Wilmington Delaware

Good HD signal from local WBEB Philadelphia 'B101' with Adult Contemporary Music. During the Holiday season it goes All Christmas and blows all the other Philly stations out of the water with very high ratings.

Another station that interferes with WBEB is WICO in Snow Hill MD playing Country Music. It was in over top of WBEB multiple evenings last week. I find it amazing a 1200 watt Class A station over 100 miles away can override a 14,000 watt Class B station just 23 miles away. There was odd reception last week with stations from SE Virginia and NE North Carolina coming in overriding other semi local stations.

Tyler, TX:

Mostly WRR Dallas with classical. KRMD-FM from Oil City, LA is another regular here. It all depends on which way the wind is blowing.

Honorable mentions to KONO-FM and KLOL which both find their way up here from time to time

East Tennessee: Religious LPFM WIAM in Knoxville, translator W266AM, (WYCH) and religious FM WJFS, Gatlinburg are in my area.
The Sevier County translator for WJXB was formerly on 101.1; it and WIAM collided about Seymour. WJXB's translator is now on 107.3,, maybe the only one in America that fulfills its original purpose of being a fill-in translator. When the WJXB translator moved, I was able to get WSJS, Hazard KY a few times.

Clifton, New Jersey

I get WCBS-FM New York, NY. Currently, 101.1 CBS-FM is on analog and HD1, a simulcast of WHSQ 880 AM on HD2, and Roadblock Radio on HD3.

Retro: WCBS-FM is best known for its first run as an Oldies station from 1972 until 2005. Then, it flipped to Adult Hits as Jack-FM. In 2007, the Oldies format returned, and eventually evolved to Classic Hits.

Denver, CO - Local KOSI. KOSI-HD-2 is "The Saints Channel", LDS (Mormon)-oriented programming, reflecting the station's ownership by Bonneville.

Here in DownEast Maine it's WTUX Gouldsboro, which is a repeater of WTOS 105.1 Skowhegan, Maine. (TOS stands for top of Sugarloaf) popular ski resort in NW Maine.

Nutley, NJ: Local WCBS New York City.
I can sometimes null WCBS with tropo and get WBEB from Philadelphia.

About 10 miles West from my location, where the hills deteriorate the NYC signals, I received Love 101.1 from Savannah during E Skip

Central Kansas: Occasional reception from KCFX/Harrisonville and KFNF/Oberlin, with ‘CFX coming in more often.

North Iowa: Moderate to weak signal from KXIA/Marshalltown.

In Northwest Washington State, Its CFMI Vancouver. For now. There's a CP for it somewhere on Whidbey Island for it too.

Further south, It's Classic Country 1520 KKXA's Everett translator. I've heard KMGP,-LP "Space 101" down in the U-District. Curious mix of mostly indie and local music.

And farther down, it's Ancient Thrift Store Records format KBRD 680's Olympia's FM translator, although this is not the proper way to listen to KBRD, which is by Atwater Kent three-dialer.

News/Talk KXL-,FM Portland can be heard around Tacoma and Olympia too.

East on I-90, it's KOHO Leavenworth, Hot AC. Further east, it's Oldies KEYF Spokane.

WSGS Hazard
Covers Central Kentucky pretty well. Better when you get east of Lexington. Heard it as far east as Charleston W Va.
Only time I couldn't hear it is when there was WVLK AM translator on 101.1
