What do you get on 101.3?

For me, here's what I get.

Local: WKCI 101.3 "KC 101". CHR - Clear Channel. CC has owned this station since before CC was the big company they are today. Recently they dropped the local morning show and replaced it with the god-awful Elvis Duran show. People on KC 101's Facebook Page want them to bring back the local morning host. Obviously they won't bring back the host they just got rid of, but I too wish they'd put a local show back on.

Usually these days with the IBOC/HD interference on the radio, it's IBOC sideband hash from WWDC 101.1 in DC. Before the IBOC, I often get the weak reception of Norfolk area's WWDE 101.3 in northern VA. This was about a decade ago with the Onkyo T-9090 II even with a FM dipole used indoors. I can imagine what would be like if the Sony XDR-F1HD was available at that time. Sometimes I could get WNCL Milford, DE during tropo openings.

Hash from Philly's B-101(WBEB) at 101.1 and New Jersey 101.5(WKXW) from Trenton. However,
through tropo, I've picked up 101.3 from Lancaster PA and Hamden CT.

In the San Francisco Bay Area, we have Star 101.3 (KIOI), which is a local station for us. Wattage-wise, it's the most powerful FM station we have here in the Bay Area (125 kW).

Here in Poughkeepsie, NY 101.3 is IBOC static from very strong local WPDH-101.5. Sometimes, WKCI-101.3 Hamden, CT comes through with the IBOC noise. WKCI is loud and clear whenever WPDH turns off the IBOC. (not very often).

DX on 101.3 (all with WPDH IBOC OFF!)

KKYY Whiting, IA Y-101.3 Only E-skip on 101.3 and most distant reception on the frequency at 1139 miles.

WGGY Scranton, PA Froggy. WPDH off the air completely.

Dayton OH area usually WFMG Richmond IN (weaker since they went directional) but WNCO in Ashland OH is heard often. WKSW in Springfield is set to move to 101.5 and closer to Dayton eventually.

101.3 here is a mix. Sometimes, it is The Big DM from Sumter, and other times it is WWQQ from Wilmington. Those two come in about 1/3 of the time, each.

Here in Boston 101.3 is one of MANY pirate stations, "Big City 101.3" with an Urban/Caribbean format. Basically every 2nd adjacent free channel on the dial, and sometimes even 1st adjacents next to rimshots are taken up by pirates in the Boston metro area.

Grenada, Mississippi has a local, WMUT. It's been off for a long time, however, and Meridian's WMSO often wafts in.

Heavy-duty local in Rochester - WRMM, a full class B (27 kW/640') just a few miles from here. But they're the only local B without IBOC, so a good receiver can pull in stations on 101.1 and 101.5.

Just north of Boston, it's usually a weak signal from the pirate Big City 101.3. However, WKCI from New Haven is a frequent visitor during tropo openings. 101.7 WFNX used to have a translator on 101.3 that I could sometimes pick up, but that was deleted when FNX upgraded their towers a few years back.

From my new location near Danville IL it's WBAA Lafayette IN and fairly strong at that.
