FM Frequency of the Week: 103.3

Hartland, VT:

Usually nothing, but "adult hits" (rock-leaning) WBGB Boston can sometimes be heard.

Meriden, CT:

W277DT Hartford, translator for conservative talk WDRC(AM) 1360.

Wilmington DE

There are 3 stations I can hear on this frequency - 2 weakly and one comes in strong when conditions are right -

W277DL Chester Springs PA a translator for WJFP 740 Chester PA with conservative talk - weak signal

WPRB Princeton NJ - very weak

WESR Onley-Onacock VA - highly variable reception. In cold dry weather like today there is no sign of it. In summer it comes in like a local with a perfect stereo signal many evenings.

East Tennessee: Nada with WIMZ's iBoc.
Retro/other: Dayton, OH area was either the present-day WOLT, Indianapolis or WTCR, Huntington WV. Then WMLX, St. Marys and a local translator were added to the mix.
In West Central Ohio, WKFR, Battle Creek MI was a frequent visitor in the 70s and early 80s.

Mankato, MN
Nothing as we have K276EH at 103.1 as a translator for AM 1230 Sports and KYSM in Mankato which is 100kw station on 103.5 so 103.3 gets some bleed from KYSM since it’s 100kw with tower 4 miles away in North Mankato

Tyler TX "VCY America" 103.3 KVDT Allen (DFW) Christian teaching. Signal varies from weak to quite good. KJCS Nacogdoches brings its classic country sounds up here periodically.

Clifton, New Jersey

I usually get HD hash from 103.5 WKTU Lake Success, NY. However, I am able to receive WPRB Princeton, NJ in a few spots.

Kenosha, WI- W277CV Milwaukee, translator for WTMJ. Weak / unusable at this distance, but always in there.

The slightest bit of enhancement will bring WKFR Battle Creek MI in from across the Big Lake. Have also occasionally heard WGLX Wisconsin Rapids.

Here on the coast of Maine it's WMCM FM Rockland, "Maine's Country Bear" which repeats WBFB 97.1 Bangor.

Manchester area, UK: a distant/weak network transmitter for a classic hits network, Greatest Hits Radio. Previously, this transmitter was locally-owned High Peak Radio which provided a local service to a national park, the Peak District. I've got a book on my shelf, "Broadcast Brothers", all about the setting up of High Peak Radio by the two brothers who owned and ran it until recently.

Nutley, NJ WKTU's sidebands/ WPRB Princeton in spots. Both stations broadcast in HD and wipe each other out in many areas around Central Jersey to the Jersey shore.

Central Kansas:
KPRS/KCMO and KJLS/Hays are common visitors, with either station pulling in decently depending on antenna positioning.

North Iowa:
A combo of a weak K277DM/Charles City and a marginal KAZR/Pella.

Central Kentucky:

Cumulus WXZZ "Z-Rock 103" Georgetown, Alternative rock.

Started life on 103.1 as WAXU FM in fall of 1973, simulcasting country WAXU AM 1580. This was Lexingtons first FM country but it didn't cover the metro ( back then) well.

Moved to 103.3 in the mid eighties with a power increase to 6kw, doing oldies as WTKT.

In the early 90s switched to the current WXZZ so it's been with this format for 30 years....
