FM Frequency of The Week: 106.1

What have you picked up on 106.1 FM?
For me:
Bothell, WA: local KBKS-FM (KISS 106.1) Seattle
Union Gap, WA: some spanish station, I'm not sure what station

-crainbebo

from Pottsville PA, its My 1061 out of Philadelphia, about 80 miles southwest

Louisiana gulf coast

Splatter from 105.9 KBZE and 106.3 KXOR normally but band opens up it's WMTI Picayune,Ms. (Sat fed oldies) with an occasional appearance by KIOC from Orange,Tx.

In Central Louisiana, normally hear KIOC on tropo with occasional hints of KXRR Monroe,La

106.1 is well blocked hear in Clovis CA by KFJK 105.9 (JACK-FM) and KVPW 106.3 (CHR Urban),but I have on occations recieved KRAB 106.1 Bakersfield (Active Rock).

An interesting mix of stuff here in Rochester NY, once you get away from first-adjacent local WJZR 105.9: WNKI 106.1 Corning if you're pointed south, Guelph ON if you're pointed northwest, and what used to be fairly reliable reception of CHEZ from Ottawa aiming northeast is now blocked most of the time by a translator in Oswego NY.

106.1 is a very weak WHDQ-Claremont, NH, in Saratoga Springs, NY....

WWWY North Vernon,IN at 25 miles is it.

WCNR "The Corner" from Charlottesville, VA about 55 miles from my location. A triple-A station with the class A signal. Very difficult signal with a ridge of mountains blocking much of a signal to Fredericksburg. Sometimes a country station WRDU down in Raleigh, NC when there's tropo.

106.1 in Raleigh is The Rooster now, but I wish we could all go back to the mid80s-mid90s, cause they were a classic rock legend back then. :'( :'(

Sometimes in a really great long while (if the conditions are decent), if I have my antenna turned in the right direction I can null out KQOL's (105.9) sideband/Ibiquity noise and hear a (really staticky) mono copy off KBKS in Seattle. Haven't done that in quite a while tho.

I most often almost always get WWWY North Vernon Indiana ROCK FORMAT,,, but when Tropo hits I often get 106.1 Kiss FM from Evansville Indiana,,CHR... Only in late spring, early summer Not sure of the calls... Usually WWWY is pretty strong here since its a 50kw torch at about 45-50 miles away and Kiss FM in Evansville is a Class A at about 150 miles.

Poughkeepsie NY area.... dominant station on 106.1 is WPDA Jeffersonville, NY (Class A - 46 miles). Also WBLI Long Island (class B - 77 miles) comes in quite well. During summer, My 106.1 from Philly is a frequent visitor. Once in a while I hear WCOD Cape Cod and WHDQ New Hampshire. Only one skip station on 106.1: KXRR-Monroe, La (1179 miles), and that was back in 2004.

In Boston, it's an Urban Contemporary formatted pirate that calls itself "Touch FM".

If not for them, WCOD on Cape Cod may come in weakly.

I remember then The Rooster was classic rock in the past, but for some reason the owner, I think it's Cheap Channel, flipped it to country.
