What do you use for a receiver?

Wilmington Delaware

Translator W299BH with a relay of WRTI Philadelphia. The XMTR is 10 miles S of me and comes in well but fades rapidly heading N.
When Tropo occurs WGBG Fruitland MD comes in with Classic Rock and overrides the translator.

Retro - 107.7 used to feature WSNJ in Bridgeton NJ with an excellent signal but they dropped their FM frequency and are just on 1240 am now. WGBG used to be on 98.5 but switched to 107.7 to get higher power and more coverage for Delmarva.

The current home receiver in use is a Pioneer SX-780, but I have several other units lying around. Pretty much any report I offer is based off of this unit. I also use a Makita 12v portable that I carry around on the 4 wheeler, which has surprisingly good selectivity and picks up most Dallas FM stations effortlessly. It is no good for AM reception, however.

Pioneer SX-780 is a nice receiver. Utilizing a outdoor antenna?

Central Kentucky:
Summit Media's WSFR Louisville "Classic Rock 107.7". One of the better classic rock stations out there.
Tropo has brought in WIVK Knoxville and will completely wipe out WSFR despite me being closer to Louisville (50 miles)

Denver, CO - Caught between local 107.5 KQKS, "KS 107-5" (rhythmic CHR) and expensive translator 107.9 K300CP, rebroadcasting co-channel active-rock (a/k/a "butt rock") KBPI Fort Collins.

Fun fact: The FCC media bureau's database indicates there are no full-power stations on 107.7 in the entire state of Colorado and just two translators on that channel (Sterling and Glenwood Springs).

Former Oakland, CA location - Local KSAN, which has very little to do with the original KSAN. Cumulus' only music station in the Bay Area.

In Wilkes-Barre(Northeast PA), it's WLGD "Bigfoot Legends", playing classic country music. It was previously a "Family Life Network" Christian music station. Years ago, when the frequency was based in Tunkhannock, about 30 miles away to the north, it was home to the first home of classic hits/Oldies "Gem 107-7" before migrating to several FM translators as well as three AM frequencies across the area in recent years. This is odd because there is already a Bigfoot country station over on 106.5 broadcasting from Bloomsburg which can easily be heard on a good radio. Both stations are owned by Seven Mountains Media.

At one time when the station was off the air about 20 years ago, I remembered getting WGTY from Gettyburg during tropo conditions.

Hartland, VT:

W299AM Lebanon, NH. Translator for active rock WFRD (99.3) Hanover, NH.

Meriden, CT:

WFCS New Britain. College radio -- mostly non-mainstream music in various genres -- from Central Connecticut State University. Fringe reception in the northern part of Meriden only.

Clifton, New Jersey

No nearby licensed stations, but I have been able receive WWRX "Jammin' 107.7" Bradford, RI several times during tropo.

Honolulu- From the Koko Crater Botanical Garden I can pick up KKOA (Koa Country 107.7) from the Big Island of Hawaii. Kind of noisy at times.

In the old days-
Was a great Rhythmic CHR station. From approximately the summer of 2000. 107 Jams is KKOA 107.7 Volcano/Hilo. 107jams 107 Jams.jpg

Was known as Rhythmic CHR Island 107 before that 1997-??
107 Jams was the slogan until around 2003?

Warminster PA(Philly 'burbs):

Years ago, it was WSNJ-FM in Bridgeton NJ. It is now on 107.9 in Pennsauken as WPPZ, today's Classix 107.9(Classic soul format).
In troposphere, there was WGBG from Fruitland, MD(Salisbury area)
and a few translators.
