FM Frequency of the Week 2018-19: 103.7

Let’s head up the dial to 103.7.

East Tennessee: With WIMZ (and its IBOC) next door, nothing really

Retro/other: Dayton, OH: One of the strongest, widest coverage Ohio signals seems to be WCKY-FM, no, not Cincinnati like it’s iHeart stablemate, WCKY (AM), but Pemberton, Ohio. “Buckeye Country” makes it to Dayto fairly often. This license was the former WTTF-FM, Tiffin. Also in Dayton, WFIU, Bloomington makes frequent appearances. WHZR, Royal Center IN has also been heard there

Lafayette IN area….either WFIU or WDBR, Springfield IL before WHZR signed on, then it was usually a weak WHZR.

Moses Lake, Washington

103.7 is probably one of, if not the blankest frequencies on the FM band here, along with 95.1 and 95.5. There are only two stations within a 150 mile radius -- a KAWZ translator in the Grandview area, and KHTP in Tacoma. I have yet to receive either of these from Moses Lake.

I do have six stations logged on 103.7, all meteor scatters, the farthest being KKBJ Bemidji, MN at a distance of 1,847 km (1,148 mi).

Warminster PA(Philly 'burbs):

Usually splatter from local 103.9 WPHI. In tropo, I have heard WMGM from AC and
WXCY from Havre de Grace MD(near Elkton).

This is another one of those that depends on where you are. If you're east of Atlanta, its probably WXKT Gainesville/ Maysville, a Cox station known as "the Chuck."
If you're west of Atlanta, its probably WRUX-LP out of east Cobb County. It carries religious programming.
And, if you're in the middle, like me, you get a combination of both.

Clear signal from KEYN/Wichita

Always semi-local/rimshot WFRT, Frankfort. East of the city, it's a fight between WFRT and WCBJ, Campton.

Yakima WA (well, not for long! I move to Ellensburg this weekend)
Just about nothing. KHTP Tacoma (Rhythmic Contemporary) often fades in and out, but not as strong as the tropo fadeups from some other Seattle stations. K279AK Granger (KAWZ) whenever they are on, is very weak.

KNRQ Harrisburg OR...I have heard this one up at Chinook Pass but it does not count because of the distance and the fact that it's on the Pierce and Yakima County lines. Maybe I'll get a fadeup of this one sometime when I move to Ellensburg.)
and this one may never happen, but it would make my month, my year, maybe my decade if I could catch K279BP Albuquerque NM, 250 watts, 103.7 The Oasis smooth jazz (// KOAZ-1510). If I can hear just 30 seconds of an ID and fadeup of some Dave Koz song during an intense opening to the southwestern US, I'd jump for joy. I stream this station often online. Their 95.9 in Santa Fe would make me just as happy.
