FM Frequency of the Week 2018-19-20: 107.5

This week's excursion through the traditional Class B/C frequencies is 107.5. What do or did you get there.

East Tennessee: Until this year, I had nothing on 107.5 with behemoth WIVK next door on 107.7. During one of our rare tropo openings this year, I caught WRVW, Lebanon TN with what seemed like a 20 minute commercial set.

Dayton, OH: Dayton also has a strong local on 107.7, but sometimes Lima or Columbus comes in.

Lafayette, IN: When I lived in that area, WZZQ Terre Haute still had its license and was an easy catch. Sometimes WGCI would drift down from Chicago.

Retro DX Clip: 15 seconds of WNUS, Chicago from 1968. http://46124.info/FM/Illinois/IL Chicago 107.5 1968 WNUS.mp3

Orange County, TX mostly KJMH Lake Arthur, LA and on occasion KGLK Lake Jackson, TX when skip comes up.

Far northwest sububan Chicago, 107.5 is all WGCI with a signal that's above average for the Chicago full-signal FMs.

Warminster PA(Philly 'burbs):

Usually, it's semi-local religious WBYN from Boyertown PA(near Reading). I have also
heard WBLS from NYC in tropo.

In Atlanta, 107.5 belongs to WAMJ a Radio One station with an urban format.

Lexington, KY:

A fight between two stations depending greatly on which side of town you're on. On the north side of Lexington, it is more of religious/gospel WIOK, Falmouth. On the south side, it is country WKYB, Perryville.

Mason City, IA:
Weak to OK signals from KKDM/Des Moines and KBGY/Faribault, MN (KKDM is more common to get)

Central KS:
Before the sign on of K298CZ (KINA’s translator), just static

Ellensburg WA

Splatter from KFFM, but not as strong as in Yakima itself. Still notable even with the multipathed signal across Manastash.

KXJM Banks OR (Rhythmic) was heard once when KFFM was off, this was at my old home in Yakima. Also had KSED Sedona AZ (Country; with KFFM ON!) during the monster 6/30/17 opening that resulted in 2Es to Waco.
