FM Frequency of the Week 2018-19-20: 107.7

Almost done with the traditional Class B/C frequencies on the U.S. FM dial.

What do you/did you/have you heard on 107.7

East Tennessee: Nothing but local blaster WIVK. I've never caught them off.
Retro/other: Dayton, Ohio. Also nothing but local WMMX.

Fort Wayne, IN: WRKR was easy pickings before WJFX came on on adjacent 107.9.

Retro DX clip of the week: WDAO pioneered soul on FM: here they are from 1967.

Far northwest Chicago suburbs. 107.7 is WVCY from Milwaukee fighting splatter from WLEY (107.9).

Lexington, KY:

Rimshot classic country WKYN, Mount Sterling. If they are off the air, then it's usually classic hits WSFR, Louisville.

Warminster Pa(Philly 'burbs):

107.7 used to be WSNJ-FM from Bridgeton NJ until they signed off in early 2004.
Now it's splatter from either 107.5 WBYN in Boyertown PA(near Reading) or
local 107.9 WPPZ from Pennsauken NJ(Philly area; WSNJ-FM's successor,
which started as WRNB in late 2004 and is now at 100.3).

Ellensburg WA

KWVN-FM Pendleton OR (Top 40). Fuzzy signal from some 120 miles out, but stable.
KNDD Seattle (Alternative) is rarely heard around these parts. I've heard them up in the hills where the elevation is helpful to take out KWVN. Out I-90, I can still hear bits and pieces of Pendleton 107.7 into the Cle Elum and Roslyn area heading westbound.
Believe CJXR Steinbach MB (Country) is my only Eskip log heard on 107.7. Anything else will be good for the logbook.

Manistee, MI:

Local Smile FM translator W299CB. Occasionally WVCY from Milwaukee or WMQT from Ishpeming will overtake it

From Carrollton, MO.
K299BS, Lexington, MO, Translator of KLEX-AM, Lexington, MO. Before K299BS came on the air about a year ago, I used to hear KCVK, Otterville, MO on this frequency.

Mason City, IA:
Nothing here, though KICD/Spencer and a Christian translator from Albert Lea (one of KJLY/Blue Earth’s) will come in from time to time.

Central KS:
Before the sign of KJRL’s trslr in McPherson, KMAJ (at the time, licensed to Topeka, now Carbondale) would be the most frequent visitor.
