FM Frequency of the Week 2018-19-20: 88.3

Mankato, MN

KJTS New Ulm..satellite station of KJLY Blue Earth

Kinship Christian Radio

sometimes I will get KJGT Waconia (Minneapolis suburb) which is....a satellite station of KJLY

Crystal Lake, IL...

88.3 is a weak WFEN. A religious station from Rockford, IL. 36 miles west of me. 9,500 watts (8,500 vertical) with a pattern that doesn't favor me).

Two shared-time religious stations: KVCP and KPHF, both licensed to Phoenix.

In Manistee, MI, usually a weak WSMZ from Crystal Valley, MI with Smile FM. Occasionally WTCY (Relevant Radio) from the Leelanau Peninsula will come in

Lexington, KY:
Traces of a very weak WEBF, Lerose (K-Love affiliate for a part of eastern KY) (7.8 kW @ 926' ~ 53 mi.)

Zachary (BR area), LA:
A decent signal from KPCP, New Roads (Blues & Zydeco music) (10.5kW @ 299' ~ 27 mi.)

Meriden, CT:

WPPB, Southampton, NY, with a mix of local talk and music and NPR programming. I'm at the northern edge of its signal range, but there's nothing strong enough underneath it to identify.

88.3 is also the frequency my original-model overpowered SiriusXM FM modulator operates on, so people within a small parking lot's distance of my car will likely hear Symphony Hall, Prime Country, Deep Tracks or sports play-by-play on this frequency instead of WPPB. Other cars' transmitters on 88.3 will either override or null out whatever I'm listening to; I assume the same is going on in the other person's car.

Warminster PA(Philly 'burbs):

Usually splatter from local WXPN on 88.5. In tropo, I have heard a few 88.3 stations, like WBGO from Newark NJ.
