FM Frequency of the Week 2018-19-20: 90.7

Ellensburg WA

A local, KNWR Ellensburg (NWPB/NPR) with xmitter on Mission Ridge, just like KPQ 102.1. I can see Mission Peak from my apartment. They get out very well from the 6800 foot peak. I have personally heard them in Kennewick, over 90 miles away.
Because of this no Es will ever make it on 90.7 unless it's completely off the air. KSER Everett (on tropo) made it once when KNWR was off one day last summer, from the old SDR receiver out in Kittitas.

Eskip has been heard at my old place in Yakima. With several ridges slightly in the way, KNWR is nullable. Logs include:
XHMOE Mexicali BCN (Los 40)
XHTIM Tijuana BCN (La Mejor)
KQLV Santa Fe NM (K-LOVE)
KPFK Los Angeles (Pacifica)
KRWG-FM Las Cruces NM (Public Radio)

These days in Wood Dale, Illinois I usually hear WRTE simulcasting WDCB. Prior to WRTE moving to this frequency from 90.5, WHAD Delafield, WI was the dominant station. During tropo enhancement WHAD and/or WAUS Berrien Springs, MI are the frequent visitors.

Crystal Lake, IL....

WHAD from suburban Milwaukee is reliable on 90.7 here. 72kw from a stick nearly 700 feet HAAT, Signal usually varies from weak to fair depending on conditions.

Lexington, KY:
Fair signal from rimshot Religious/"King of Kings Radio" Network affiliate WPTJ, Paris (10kW @ 315' ~28 mi.)

Zachary, LA (Baton Rouge area):
Weak signal from Contemporary Christian "Lifesongs" Network affiliate KPEF, White Castle (42kW @ 381' ~49 mi.)
Sometimes Public/NPR KLSA, Alexandria will make it in (100kW @ 1243' ~103 mi.)

Moses Lake, WA:
KNWR 90.7 is a local here too. Although I'm a bit farther away from Mission Peak, I doubt E-skip will make it onto 90.7 unless the station coming in has IBOC. KNWR just recently turned off its IBOC and I have a feeling it's off for good. I could see myself getting K214AR (KPBX) Spokane on 90.7 if the conditions are right.

I've heard KNWR personally in Kennewick as well, although the farthest I've heard it was at Mount Spokane (distance 257 km / 160 mi).

I remember that day KNWR was off the air last year, the exact date was May 3 according to my DX logs, and I managed to get both KBOO and KSER between Moses Lake and Ellensburg.
