FM Frequency of the Week 2018-19-20: 91.9

Last stop in the U.S. non-comm band.

East Tennessee: Absolutely nothing ever than behemoth WUOT, the University of Tennessee's NPR/Classical station. It's the only station in the market that has a multicast---hard to believe but the big commercial groups don't have the translators to feed in this market. Odd situation.

Retro/other: Dayton, OH area, a pretty blank frequency. I got WJCH, the Family Radio station in Joliet, IL once.

Retro DX clip of the week: Not my reception which was in the car, but here is WJCH as the station was new to Chicago

That wraps up the non-comm band. Next week, we start the class A's (traditional, US) with 92.1.

WGCP Cadillac, MI with 3ABN programming branded as "Strong Tower Radio". The name is fitting, especially after their massive upgrade a couple of years ago (they used to be 2.1kW on a puny tower (HAAT around 150 feet) near Cadillac and they moved to the Harrietta tower used by 88.7 WIAA and 91.1 WOLW with 2.65kW but a HAAT of 935 feet). Before WGCP moved to Harrietta, WHDI from Sister Bay, WI used to be fairly common (I was never able to receive WGCP prior to the upgrade). During strong tropo, WHDI can override WGCP.

Lexington, KY:
Usually nothing but occasionally Triple-A WFPK, Louisville will make its way in. (6.8 kW @ 774' ~76 mi.)
Never have been able to pull in WUOT out of Knoxville, even when rare tropo/skip events bring in the expected culprits like WIVK and WCYQ.

Zachary, LA:
Fair signal from rimshot Spanish Christian "Radio Amor" WWRA, Clinton (25 kW @ 266' ~23 mi.)
