FM Frequency of the Week - 90.5 MHz

The letters used to belong to their Norwich (CT) station on 89.1 FM. On a minor note, I think the old WPKT-FM was licensed to Middlefield (CT) next door (the town sandwiched between Meriden and Middletown, where they don't already border). I always considered the Meriden station to be their "head" one, since the transmitters nearby on West Peak already service Hartford to the north-northeast.

I believe you're right about WPKT-FM. I seem to recall Middlefield in the TOH ID. The transmitter site was the same West Peak one used by present-day WNPR, right? And does WMNR Monroe's 8-watt translator at 91.9 have its antenna on the same tower?

For you Chicago area DXers, where is WMTH's antenna mounted? Inside that bell tower on the NW corner of Maine East High School? Maybe on top of it? I don't see any vertical structure on the satellite view that corresponds to the coordinates.

That's what I thought I saw, but the coordinates correspond to the South end. It's about 101 feet per second of latitude.

Based on the tennis court dimensions, baseball diamond mound to plate dimension, and the distance between the WYLL towers, I'd say that the latitude is about 5 seconds off.

Over the last half-century, 90.5 WVUM has gone from 35 watts to 365 watts to 1,300 watts and finally to 5,900 watts directional.
