FM Frequency of the Week - 90.7 MHz

What can you get on 90.7 FM?

Here in Vermilion, OH it is local station WNRK/Norwalk, OH which is a repeater to WKSU 89.7 with NPR and Classical music. WNRK also has HD-2 as 'Folk Alley' HD-3 with classical and HD-4 with national news shows.

Kenosha, WI- WHAD Delafield (Milwaukee), WI. One of the original Wisconsin Public Radio outlets, and a big signal from high ground in western Waukesha County; Kenosha falls on the edge of their primary contour. They broadcast in Sparkling Mono.

As strong as WHAD is, the slightest hint of east tropo will send WAUS Berrien Springs, MI right over the top of it. It was, in fact, doing that yesterday.

In Manistee, MI, if anything, usually WHAD Delafield, WI. Tropo will occasionally bring in either WMVM Goodman, WI or WNMC Traverse City, MI.

Allendale, MI: W214AY Walker, MI, but a decent tropo will bring in WAUS Berrien Springs, MI

In the area just south of Indianapolis, a station I proudly built...WKPW, Knightstown,IN, the 4400 watt voice of Knightstown High School.

Whitmore Lake, MI - Usually a dead frequency due to HD slop from 90.5 WKAR, but WGLE Lima OH and WNFR Sandusky MI are common during tropo openings. On a very rare occasion I'll get WAUS.

Bay City, MI - Sort of fringe reception from WBHL Harrison MI.

Most of the time, it's WHAD (Delafield, WI) at 53 miles and 72kW (approx. 700' HAAT), WHAD is a consistently reliable signal to listen for Wisconsin Public Radio in the Crystal Lake/McHenry, IL area. Sometimes, when tropo is strong across Lake Michigan, WAUS (Berrien Hills, MI) will take over the frequency. That's it from my location!

Here in Warminster PA(Philly 'burbs), 90.7 is usually splatter from 90.9 WHYY. I have received a slew of 90.7
stations in tropo, including WFUV from New York and WYRS from Toms River NJ.

In Monroe, WA it's KSER Everett, WA - a local community radio station.
In Yakima, WA I get KNWR in Ellensburg, WA (NWPR)
In Portland, OR I get KBOO which is another local community - variety station.

In Saratoga Springs, NY....a mix of WPGL Pattersonville, NY and WLJH Glens Falls, NY. Both stations are zombie satellite fed CCM.....using the same programming service...So it is hard to determine which one is coming in....at any particular time....Not that I would listen to either!
