FM Frequency of the Week - 92.1 MHz

What do you all get on 92.1 FM?

Here in Vermilion, OH 92.1 is WOHF/Bellevue, OH '92.1 the Wolf' a classic hits station owned by BAS Broadcasting. This used to be a classic rock station with the same name. When tropo is up from the NE, CKPC/Brantford, ON will mix with WOHF

In Bothell/Bellevue, WA, it's CBU-FM1 Victoria, BC, but in Bellevue it's mostly bleed from KQMV-92.5. Have also caught KFMA Tucson, AZ via E-skip.

In Yakima, WA it's KDNA 91.9 splatter, but with a very good radio you can get a weak KUMA Pilot Rock, OR (AC).

In Pacific Beach, WA I heard CBU-FM1 VERY VERY weakly with a weather forecast and CBC Radio Two ID. Otherwise, nothing.

Portland OR: IBOC from KGON 92.3.

Until 1985, it was only WCMQ-FM Hialeah FL...but they moved to 92.3 then (and upgraded to 41 kW as well).

It's now WRLX "Mia 92.1" in West Palm Beach, and also WAFZ Immokalee. Good tropo to the Keys *might* land the WLRN translator in Islamorada.

I caught the legendary WLNG Long Island in 2009 or 2010 via E-skip; and on July 4, 2010 on my car radio, I landed CKPC for the first time (hearing the obscure "You're the One" by Blood, Sweat & Tears had me keep listening, until I heard the CKPC ID---CanCon is an aid to the DXer :) ).

In Durham, North Carolina, 92.1 MHz is usually Hot AC WMYB in Myrtle Beach, SC, while closer-by class A WRSV in Rocky Mount, NC is also sometimes heard. I've also caught Moyock, NC-licensed Hampton Roads station WKSA and Morganton, NC's WMNC-FM.

Other logs include:
WLTU, Mantowoc, WI
KMZA, Seneca, KS
KREP, Belleville, KS
KTFW, Glen ROse, TX
KTBT, Broken Arrow, OK
WYRQ, Little Falls, MN
CBHY, Yarmouth, NS
KFXI, Marlow, OK

Strangely enough, I have no record of ever having caught WCDX in Mechanicsville (Richmond market), VA, not very far up the road from the Raleigh-Durham area.

CBU-FM1 Victoria....LOUDLY......

Northern VA,

Very very weak classic country WPPT Mercersburg, PA (near Hagerstown, MD) and occasionally the Richmond station.

That's one of my better channels despite being 12 miles from WTTS 92.3's 37KW @ 1050'. In central Indiana :

WWGO-Charleston,IL (not there daily but it's far from rare)
WBST-Muncie,IN (always there)
WROI-Rochester,IN (several times a year)
WZDM-Vincennes,IN (most days)
WBVX-Carlisle,KY (always there)

High Bridge NJ - The strongest is WVLT Vineland NJ. Palmyra PA comes in fairly well. Go a little east and WLNG Sag Harbor NY is a trop regualar, go a little west and Nanticoke PA is a groundwave regular. Of course on E-Skip 92.1 is a goldmine, I probably have 40 e skip stations heard on this frequency.

From Coldwater, MI-

Most of the time it's Hillsdale's WCSR from 18 miles. But 92.1 is a crowded frequency here, so it doesn't take much to overtake the CSR signal here.

WHPD- Dowagiac, MI- Pulse FM (Contemporary Christian) is the most common visitor from 54 miles away
WBST- Muncie, IN- Indiana Public Radio (Ball State)- 122 miles
WROI- Rochester, IN- Adult Cont.- 90 miles
WQTX- Saint Johns, MI- Big Country 92.1- 68 miles
WFGF- Wapakoneta, OH- The Frog (Country)- 100 miles
WGHN- Grand Haven, MI- 99 miles
