FM Frequency of the Week - 92.7 MHz

What can you get on 92.7 FM?

In Vermilion, OH this frequency is a mess between the following:

CJSB/Leamington, ON '92.7 Max FM' (Adult Hits)
CJBX/London, ON 'BX 93' (Country)
Someone nearby has been using a neighborhood transmitter on 92.7 rebroadcasting Sirius XM's Classic Vinyl channel.

In Bellevue, WA 92.7 is just IBOC from KQMV 92.5.

In Pacific Beach, WA it's a mix of K224DR Aberdeen (KGHO-LP) and at times, KNCU Newport, OR (Country).

In Portland, OR it's K224DL Portland (Air 1)

In Yakima, WA it's KDBL/92.9 splatter + interference. I got KNCW Omak, WA at the Manastash Ridge Viewpoint (about five or six miles S of Ellensburg, WA) in August 2010.

All WHIZ-FM from Zanesville here in Thornville, Ohio. It's listenable to about the east outerbelt of Columbus before the frequency dissolves into fuzz.
WQEL from Bucyrus takes over about 30 miles north and northwest of here, but it's no powerhouse.

This is a 'when hell freezes over' frequency for me.

It's between the 250 watt translator on 92.5 for local AM WHEP (whose AM/FM tower is practically across the road from me) and 100 kW WBLX on 92.9, who runs IBOC.

So on this channel, if the buzz don't get ya, the copious splatter from the translator will.

I figure if I ever hear DX on this frequency, hell hath frozen over!

This has been pretty good FM DX frequency. In northern VA, I caught the "Big Fish" from Pine Knoll Shores, NC, along the Atlantic Coast last year. It's WBNK, a Christian rock station on 92.7 calling itself "Big Fish." Normally it's sports talker WWXT Prince Frederick, MD about 50 miles to the east of me.

WXKU Austin,IN at 38 miles pretty well owns the channel.

In Gary, IN (or even at work in Merrillville Indiana), I get WKIF Kankakee, IL or WCPT-FM Arlington Heights, IL, depending on which one is stronger. If I were still working in Lowell Indiana, it would automatically be WKIF Kankakee, IL, since Lowell is Grade B coverage for that station. When WCPT-FM was WKIE, & simulcasting with WKIF, I couldn't tell which one I was picking up.
