FM Frequency of the Week - 92.9 MHz

What can you all get on 92.9 FM?

Here in Vermilion, OH it's mostly just IBOC from WZAK 93.1 but if anything I can hear CFCO/Chatham, ON with country as 'Country 92.9'. Tropo has brought in WNDV/South Bend, IN with CHR as 'U 93' and WGTZ/Eaton, OH with adult hits as 'Fly 92.9'. Before WZAK added IBOC I heard WLTJ/Pittsburgh a couple of times also.

Here in Poughkeepsie, NY it's local WBPM Saugerties, NY. WBPM signed on back around 1999 I believe (with WRKW calls). Before that WYZZ WilkesBarre, PA was heard, as was fade-ins from WEZF Burlington, VT. WBPM is actually my favorite local station with classic hits,.... of course as a DXer I seldom listen to a local station. Only one e-skip station has made it through WBPM... WBLX Mobile, AL. A total of 7 stations have been logged on 92.9, including WVBW Suffolk, VA (Norfolk area), which was so strong one night, I had to turn the antenna north toward WBPM to be sure they were still on the air.

Either WFTK in the Tri-Cities or WLXX, Lexington here in East TN
Dayton was WGTZ, though on occasions it was off the air WLXX would come through

Local KDBL Toppenish, WA here, "92.9 the Bull" with country music.
Off the air rarely, but heard when off the air:
KZZU Spokane (Hot AC)
KRXF Bend (Rock)
KISM Bellingham (Classic Rock).
Heard 6/3/14 when KDBL was off: KAFF Flagstaff, AZ! Song match to playlist. Es log, about 900 miles.
I heard KKXL Grand Forks ND via Es when I was in western WA - KISM was a semi-local however.

92.9 is locked up with KKBQ in Houston. But for anybody in the Dallas area - now that the stupid translator is off the air - 92.9 has no less than FIVE stations receivable, depending on how your antenna is turned:

KBEZ Tulsa - I even got RDS display on it
KTKC Springhill, LA (Shreveport market) - at the time I did my scan I think it was gospel not country
KKBQ Houston - I heard Houston icon "Mattress Mack" advertising between country songs
KRMX Marlin - Waco market although the call letters may have changed since my scan in the 2007 2008 timeframe
KNIN Wichita Falls

I never got San Angelo - 100kW but on a short stick.

In most of Lake County Indiana, it's usually splatter from 1st adjacent 93.1 WXRT Chicago. Only during tropo is it possible to get WNDV-FM South Bend Indiana. Once on the Porter County side, it comes in clear, except for parts of Portage. Even then, WXRT's signal is still rather strong, well into Michigan City.

In the St. Louis area there are three stations that can be generally heard on 92.9. To the north is KGRC Hannibal-Quincy, WSEI Olney, IL to the east, and in the western suburbs, KKID Salem, MO can be heard.

A tossup between WFHG, Tri Cities "Supertalk" and WLXX, "Nash 92.9" Lexington in East Tennessee.

Back in Dayton, local WGTZ "Fly 92.9". I had caught them off the air on occasion and WLXX (WVLK-FM) in its place

I can recieve interference from WIKX from Port Charlotte/KIX COUNTRY 92.9 which is a country station and WMFQ from Ocala a Pop station on 92.9/Q92. WHY THE WHAT DO COUNTRY STATIONS ALWAYS INTERFERE POP STATIONS IN FLORIDA! IT'S ALWAYS COUNTRY THAT'S THE CULPRIT. SO IS CLASSICAL MUSIC. Examples are WWGR-WJHM (both on 101.9) in Tampa Bay and WXKB-WSMR translator (both on 103.9) also in Tampa Bay, even affecting St. Pete, which is as high as B104 will go.

I unfortunately have 3 stations to deal with here, and none of them are exactly local..

The furthest one ( and strongest at times ) is KFSO, a Spanish station that serves the Fresno, Visalia, Tulare market with 17,500 watts. Transmitter is 166 miles for my location. Outstanding signal for the distance!!

The next one is KFGY ( froggy 92.9 country ) serving the Santa Rosa, Cloverdale, Healdsburg market with 2300 watts. This is a picky signal. Sometimes its there, next its not. Transmitter is 117 miles away.

The third is unknown at this time, but I will update when I find out what it is ( weak, but still listenable )

92.9 here in Charleston is a mix. WEGX Dillon, SC (transmitter 115+ miles out) is steady a lot of the time. It has a huge signal. It adequately serves Florence, Myrtle Beach, and Fayetteville, NC (three decent-sized markets) with country. We have a religious translator nearby (a Calvary Chapel station), but any time there is any type of skip, WEGX blasts over it.

When there is a southern skip, WAAC Valdosta, GA comes in at about 240 miles or so frequently (also country). WMFQ Ocala, FL is also there frequently in the summer. I’ve never heard the one from the Fort Myers area here.

It's an interesting one here in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, more interesting than it has been in recent years.
Years ago, it used to be WGTZ from Dayton or nothing. Then about two years ago, WDLR-AM (1550) from Delaware put on a translator at 92.9 that covered the Columbus area quite well; better than it should, many say.
On top of that, local gospel station WVKO-AM (1580) put its own translator on 92.9 last summer from a transmitter in downtown Columbus that, while it throws a null toward Delaware, creates an often-ugly battle between the two stations across much of the area. WVKO signed on and off in early August, then went off the air for months and now has been back on since March.
