In tne Wilkes-Barre(Northeast PA) area, WTRW "94.3 The Talker" from Carbondale comes in fine with a right-wing talk format, hence the station's logo. Prior to the flip to the current talk format, it was soft AC "Lite 94.3" that lasted a few years, and prior to that, it was a simulcast to Adult Standards WNAK 730, both were held under their former owner "Route 81 Radio".
Back in the 80's-90's, it used to be Oldies as WSGD-FM "Solid Gold 94", then "94.3 SGD"(I remembered hearing the station played in a liquidation store at the old Steigmeier building), and "Cool 94", which would later be simulcasted on 93.7 for Luzerne County. When Citadel bought 94.3(and 93.7), it rebranded as "Big Oldies" but only lasted for one year before flipping to Country as "Cat Country 94". Around 2000, the Cat Country format dropped and was stunting for several days running prerecorded recording messages from callers seeking relationships before switching to a simulcast of CHR 97.1 WBHT from W-B with the WBHD calls. Two years later, the simulcast was dropped and flipped back to "Cat Country 94", but the local version was replaced with a simulcast of "Cat Country 96" WCTO from the Lehigh Valley, which is very strange because no other station from other markets(with the exception for Temple University's WRTI, Family Life Network, and Lehigh Valley-based Word FM), run a simulcast in my region.
In parts of downtown W-B, it is prone to some interference by a nearby WEJL's 94.1 translator, whose transmitter sits atop the Citizen's Voice building across from the former Coughlin High School.
