FM Frequency of The Week: 94.7

Far northwest suburban Chicago, it's WLS-FM on 94.7. I calculate that I'm 44 miles from their Willis tower stick. (Which, of course is really Sears Tower.)

The downtown Chicago signals are a little "thin" by the time they get out here, but still strong enough that with a normal "barefoot" radio it's still extremely rare to hear them get overpowered by same-channel skip. Adjacent channels can sometimes be a different story during tropo events.

Here in East Tennessee, I've only recieved WGSQ, Cookeville.
I've heard the Country Giant more than once 40 miles south of WFBQ...big signal!

This was mentioned in another thread....but Radio Marti has been using 94.7 for at least 4 months now, maybe more. I have heard it from my home near Miami, albeit having to fight IBOC.
