FM Frequency of the Week - 97.7 MHz

What do you get on 97.7 FM?
Here in Vermilion, OH, I get semi-local WGGN/Castalia, OH with a Christian Contemporary format. The only other 97.7 I've picked up is WTGV/Sandusky, MI during good tropo.

Spanish La Mega in the south suburbs of Dayton. LPFM WSWO just vacated 97.7 and dropped down to 97.5. It has a translator on 101.1 and would sometimes relay WTGN, Lima which comes in occasionally.

Warminster PA(Philly 'burbs):

Usually splatter from local sports station WPEN-FM, "97.5 the Fanatic." In tropo, I have
received WAFL(Eagle 97.7), an oldies station from Delaware.

Here in eastern Ontario, it's CHOM Montreal QC or CHMS Bancroft ON (both fringe), with the occasional visit from CHTZ St. Catharines ON .

In Bothell/Bellevue, WA it's KOMO Oakville, WA [KOMO 1000 simulcast for South Sound]. Have also heard KLVO Albuquerque, NM [when I caught KLVO it was Christian Contemporary, now it's Regional Mexican] via Es. CBUF in Vancouver, BC can be heard from Marysville, WA N to Canada.

In Pacific Beach, WA it's a huge KOMO. Causes lots of interference on 97.5 [which renders KSHL in Gleneden Beach OR almost useless].

In Wapato, WA KOMO came in pretty good, from 110 mi or so. From Portland, OR KOMO was ALSO heard. Has a HUGE range.

KOMO, most of the time. Pretty scratchy/staticky, but it's there. You can tell it's a distant station. ;o)

In Lake or Porter County Indiana, I can get WLQI Rensselaer, IN, as long as I'm in the far southern portions of the county. Otherwise in those 2 counties, WLUP's signal on 97.9 is still too strong to get WLQI on 1st adjacent. I sometimes get WLQI at work in Merrillville Indiana, as long as my car is parked in the right spot. My work site is barely outside of the Chicago stations' Grade A contours, which makes getting WLQI a bit easier. At home, only during tropo, due to living in WLUP's Grade A contour (and all other Chicago station's Grade A contour).

Northern VA, I get very weak WMGM "The Rocket" Lexington Park, MD, about 60 miles to the southeast. I once got another 97.7 from Myrtle Beach, SC, for a few seconds several years ago.

From Coldwater, MI-

Mostly WSSM- Goshen, IN- Oldies- 'The Stream'

WTGN- Lima, OH is no match when tropo is up

Other stations
WTGV- Sandusky, MI- AC
WMRX- Beaverton, MI- AC
WLQI- Rensselaer, IN- AC
WGGN- Castalia, OH- Cont. Christian
W249BT- Adrian, MI- Cont. Christian/WBCL
CHTZ- Saint Catharines, ON- Rock- 'Hitz FM'
