FM Frequency of the Week - 98.1 MHz

What do you all get on 98.1 FM? Here in Vermilion, OH, 98.1 is semi-local WKDD/Munroe Falls, OH (between Cleveland and Akron) with a Hot-AC format. I have also heard WDFM/Defiance, OH (also Hot-AC) and WKCQ/Saginaw, MI (Country) with tropo.

Dayton, OH..once you get out of range of the University of Dayton's WGXM it's often WBUL Lexington...so far the only FM I've received somewhat regularly in both Dayton and in Gatlinburg.
Also WDFM Defiance. When 98.1 was WKQQ it was fairly easy to hear it in West Central Ohio before WDFM signed on.

Schenectady, NY: When WTRY-FM IBOC is off, with a good radio I could pick up WKZE (AAA, Salisbury CT), WHWK (Country, Binghamton NY) or WJJR (Hot AC, Rutland VT) during tropo (non-tropo it's just WTRY analog splatter with the IBOC off, due to being close to the tower)

From Coldwater, MI-

Usually WDFM- Defiance, OH- Hot AC (Mix 98-1)

Tropo-
WKCQ- Saginaw, MI- Country
WIBN- Earl Park, IN- Oldies- 98 Gold
W251AR- Goshen, IN- Religious/WQKO
WSBL-LP- South Bend, IN- Spanish
WKDD- Munroe Falls, OH- Hot AC- 98 KDD
WBUL- Lexington, KY- Country- The Bull
WLKN- Cleveland, WI- AC- The Lake
WRAY- Princeton, IN- Country
WZOE- Princeton, IL- AC
WMGN- Madison, WI- AC- Magic 98
KYKY- Saint Louis, MO- Hot AC
KHAK- Cedar Rapids, IA- Country
KFGE- Lincoln, NE- Country- Froggy 98
CHFI- Toronto, ON- AC

In Bellingham, WA. A noisy, unlistenable KING-FM from Seattle. Tropo often brings KISC from Spokane.....

In Bothell/Bellevue, WA it's KING Seattle, WA (Classical).

In Pacific Beach, WA it's KING mixed with KCYS Seaside, OR (Country, construction permit to move to 96.5)

In Portland, OR it's usually nothing or KPPK 98.3 splatter.

In Wapato, WA I usually get a very weak KISC Spokane, WA (got KING once).

Bongwater: You get KISC occasionally all the way up THERE?? That's surprising...

Not so much in Bellingham, but Mount Vernon hilltops in the fall at the right time (usually early evenings) is most likely place you'll pick KISC up. Also KKZX and KXLY-FM occasionally buzzes over KLCK-FM and KISW during these times. Can't say much for the other Spokane stations because there's usually a pretty strong Vancouver station on those other Spokane FM frequencies....

What about KPBX? Is KROH nullable on the hilltops on 91.1?

KPBX was blocked by the Mount Vernon translator of KPLU (then on 91.1.) KROH is VERY STRONG in Mount Vernon - probably even more than the KPLU translator. So I guess you'd still have to write KPBX off as well....

Durham, North Carolina:

Usually WQSM, Fayetteville, NC with more than occasional appearances made by WBRF, Galax, VA.

Other pick-ups have included KVET, Austin, TX; WYBB, Charleston, SC; WTVR, Richmond, VA; KBEW, Blue Earth, MN; WWJO, St. Cloud, MN; and KFGE, Milford, NE
