FM Frequency of the Week: 98.3

Melbourne FL

most commonly heard - WWRZ - Fort Meade - Lakeland FL Max 98.3 - Big hits

others....

KBOC Bridgeport TX 98.3 - Todos Exitos Spanish – Mexican – 2016
WGCO Midway GA 98.3 Hank FM Country – classic legends 2014
WRTO Goulds-MIami FL Mix 98.3 Spanish 2010

Tyler, TX:

A fair to good signal from neighboring Palestine's country KYYK "Kick 98.3". KBOC Bridgeport "Luna 98 3" from NW of the Metroplex overtakes the KYYK signal in the mornings, more often than not.

Wilmington Delaware

Fringe signal from WTKU 'Kool 98.3' in Ocean City NJ with Classic Hits. It keeps its' signal right along the Jersey Shore but given the right conditions it can come in as strong as WOGL on 98.1.

Denver, CO - Nothing.

Special Retro - 98.3 was the frequency of KFMZ in Columbia, Missouri (where I spent a good part of the earlier days of my life), a station that lost its license in 2001 due to the shenanigans of the principal owner of Contemporary Media. That frequency was blank for some years, with EMF eventually putting a translator on the channel. That, in turn, was bumped after the FCC auctioned off the license to the frequency to a new applicant, which began operations in 2016 as KDVC, "The Dove".

East Tennessee: Knoxville/Sevierville. WMTY, Sweetwater, TN, an oldies station with all-religious on Sundays. Very low tower makes it difficult outside its own local area. Also an LPFM, WJQJ, contemporary Christian in Gatlinburg.

Central Kansas:
A weak to sometimes fair signal from KQZQ/Kiowa.

North Iowa:
At times, I’ve been able to pull in KQYB/Spring Grove. Never have been able to pull in KWQW/Boone, though both stations are roughly equidistant from my location.

Clifton, New Jersey

I get W252CS "Voice of New York Radio Korea" Palisades Park, NJ which is an FM translator of 94.7 WXBK HD3 New York. It used to transmit from Brooklyn, NY until it moved to New Jersey in 2023. Before that, I received WKJY "K-Joy 98.3" Hempstead, NY and WMGQ "Magic 98.3" New Brunswick, NJ. Currently, W252CS wipes them out in most spots.

In the Wilkes-Barre(Northeast PA) area, it's mostly HD splatter from adjacent 98.5 WKRZ. Because of that, it's impossible to receive anything on this frequency.
