FM Frequency of the week - 98.5 MHz

Here in Homosassa, Fl strong local signal from WKTK. Howver a week ago I was able to hear splatter off of WSB in Atlanta. I would still hear KTK but the signal was going in and out. When it went out I was able to hear WSB faintly.

Here in Saint Peters its KTJJ out of Farmington, they have a massive signal as they broadcast off of Stono Mountain.

Up in Bellingham, WA.....It's CIOC out of Victoria, BC. They have a MONSTER signal....can be heard well into Seattle.

Until recently, the last couple of years had my local "98.5" as an IBOC frequency (WRTO 98.3). WRTO dropped it, so it's free again.

At my home, W(I forgot) in San Carlos Park/Ft. Myers, with Catholic programming, is the most common. WKTK Crystal River sometimes makes it in, but also near my workplace, a local pirate (who obviously noticed the IBOC gone, wink wink) operates.

I got WYLD New Orleans this year on Tropo, and a few others on E-skip (but I cannot remember any ID'd one!)

Just sports talker WBZ FM Bos from about 30 mi- Real strong-for some reason I get very little e skip in Central Mass.

In McKinney, TX just north of Dallas,
98.5 is typically killed out by 98.7

however when good tropo moves in 98.5 KGAP from Clarksville, TX will come in.

It's a KOOL station.

Near Farmville, Virginia:

Another interesting frequency in the Heartland of Virginia.

Antenna aimed north: WACL 98.5, Elkton, VA (98 Rock)
Antenna aimed south: WDWG 98.5, Rocky Mount, NC (The Dawg)

KTIS dominates the frequency. Their HD radio signal (with its 4 channels) is also often audible up here outside of Duluth. Their analog signal very regularly comes in at night in the car.

The other station on that frequency, which I often hear in WQLH's eastern lobe, especially when tropo conditions are up to the east, is Star 98.5 WQLH Green Bay, WI. I haven't made any other tropo loggings on the frequency.

I've logged a lot of skip on that frequency from PA, NJ, NC, TX, LA, and FL.

In Saratoga Springs, NY....It is Oldies station....WCKM Lake George/Glens Falls, NY.....However...if CKM is off the air....Than it is A/C station WCTW...Catskill, NY....
