East Tennessee (Knoxville/Sevierville): Translator W255BK (WLNQ), Newport in some areas, but not Knoxville or even much of Sevierville. The former WSPA (now WYRD) would fade up now and then, particularly in Sevier County. Now and then WSIP, Paintsville, KY sneaks in.
Retro/other: I've worked at a 98.9, WBYR, Fort Wayne (Van Wert, Ohio). It had and had a tremendous signal, especially East and Southeast. It's been heard in Pigeon Forge but not by me. When I was growing up in West Central Ohio, this facility was much lower-powered WERT-FM, which was off the air by 10pm. Otherwise, WSLM, Salem, IN could drift in.
WBYR seemed to have a good signal all directions (but not a booming downtown Fort Wayne building-penetrating signalThe Bear was one of my favorite stations when I'd visit western Ohio. Kick-butt signal all the way to Bellefontaine, where it gave way to the current WTOH from Columbus once you crosse the ridge.
