FM Frequency of the Week: 99.9

Tyler, TX:

At the house it's a good place to hear this redneck's pipes blasting through your receiver's speakers. A decent signal from the legendary K-M double O...or as is now the standard, K-Moo, from the historic town of Many-get-down-ola.

Waco 100 (WACO-FM Waco) sure does give us fits outside of Mineola on frequent occasions. I've recently also had KSHN Liberty sneaking in with CCM relayed from Houston's KSBJ.

East Tennessee: WKSF Old Fort, NC (Kiss Country) still making it in to move of the area. In far West Knoxville, or if you're in just the right place, there's WUCP (LP).

Wilmington Delaware

Good signal from LPFM W260BW in Swedesboro NJ relaying WSNJ 1240 in Bridgeton NJ. I don't know why they put the LPFM 35 miles NW from the original signal and audience. It interferes with my ability to hear WWFG (Froggy 99.9) in Ocean City MD. It is a class A with 38,000 watts that travels up here most warm humid evenings and mornings. I can still hear it with some effort by twisting the antenna on the radio to try to null W260BW.

Hartland, VT:

Nothing.

Meriden, CT:

"Star 99.9" WEZN-FM Bridgeport, hot adult contemporary. The "EZ" call is a leftover from the station's "beautiful music" past.

Denver, CO -
Fringe signal (but strong enough to trigger stereo) from KVUU Pueblo, "My 99.9", transmitter on Cheyenne Mountain west of Colorado Springs. CHR.

There's a translator on 99.9 licensed to Arvada but which really seems to be covering Broomfield, which is somewhat to the northwest of me, so it's not a factor in this part of Denver.

Nutley, NJ

WEZN Bridgeport, CT, borderline weak/moderate reception. WODE Easton, PA cuts in with planes going by from nearby Teterboro/Newark Airport
Tropo: WWFG Ocean City, MD and WQRC Hyannis, MA
E-Skip- WKIS from Boca Raton, FL has made a few visits

Central Kansas:
Clear signal from the 100,000 watt blowtorch known as KSKG/Salina.

North Iowa:
Perfect signal from KAUS-FM just across the Minnesota state line in Austin.

Clifton, New Jersey

I get WEZN "Star 99.9" Bridgeport, CT. WODE-FM "99.9 The Hawk" Easton, PA will occasionally appear in one spot over WEZN. I have received WWFG "Froggy 99.9" Ocean City, MD and WQRC "99.9 The Q" Barnstable, MA during tropo.
