FM News is Now Gone in NY & Chicago. So......

Although there are many different assumptions on what would be the next format would be for KROI.....There is one COMMON denominator in this thread posted by almost everyone.... Can Anyone Guess What it is??????

Let's talk about News 92 FM...as of late, they have recently added a bunch of new advertisers (with a lot less PI filler) with sponsored news segments plus they seem to have added a slew of new reporters...not to mention moving into their new studios and fully-built out newsroom. I expect they are in it for the long haul which is good...AM is dead save for sports while music formats on FM are trending downward as well. And, KROI hasn't been through a hurricane yet which, once they do, will see their listenership spike to the stars and which will garner them a bunch of new loyal listeners, mark my word. Unlike other markets (like San Diego and New York City), weather drives this town and for better or worse for us, will benefit News 92 FM's perceived listener value immensely...

During a crisis situation such as a hurricane, I wouldn't be surprised if Radio One didn't simulcast KROI on all their Houston stations.

That is what I asked about a few weeks ago. If they have just moved into their new studios and fully-built out newsroom, they appear to be into this format for the foreseeable feature. Why
spend several hundred thousands dollars on this, only to abounded the format a few months later. At least give then a couple of years to build up a significance audience.
