Most cheap radios will overload at that distance. It used to be worse before digital tuners. I had some issues when I lived about 5 miles from South Mountain in Phoenix, where there are a dozen or so 100 kW FM stations on top. My older analog radios were just noise across the band, but the digital tuners worked fine for the most part. Even when I lived further north in the '70s, I couldn't connect any kind of antenna to my cheap stereo, or the same noise due to overload would occur. Fortunately, leaving the antenna terminals disconnected worked just fine.
