FM Radio Stations That Play Sign-on\Sign-off Messages at the Start\End of the Day

At any time in history, was the full sign on announcement required, especially for 24 hour stations?

Just the call letters when powering on, and again when powering off.

Not American, but Filipino stations are required by law to broadcast a sign-on message daily. They are highly regulated -- including engineering staff and announcers names (with their government-issued license numbers). Basically all sign-off messages are announced in English (even though the station may broadcast in Tagalog), and I have only heard two versions of their National Anthem played: One that is instrumental, one that has vocals from a children's choir.

Here is one of the stations that do sign off in the Philippines.

This sign offs reminds me of how sign offs were done in the USA back in the 1990's.

The most notable case of a radio station signing off in a major radio market was when KCBS-AM was off the air for transmitter maintenance. This aircheck was made in 1997. However that is rare at this point for a major radio station owners like Audacy, Iheart, Cumulus, Alpha and Townsquare to have radio stations on AM or FM to sign off. For smaller operations probably the case to hear radio stations go off the air for transmitter maintenance.
