There's a 100,000 Watt Applicaiton, soon to be CP on 92.1 in Alaska.Lets play a guessing game... where is it licensed to and what do yiu think the owners will do with it?
92.1 in Anchorage/Houston is KBBO.. and it is 10KW, if it was 92.1 in Alaska it would have to be far away from Southcentral- Anchorage. Perhaps KBBO is appyling for upgrade to 100KW? Where else in Alaska is 92.1 frequency assigned to?
They need another radio outlet in Naknek/King Salmon? With less than 2000 population, it would be hard to understand. KAKN FM is a 3KW station already there, so who are they trying to reach with a 100KW flamethrower?
If memory serves....I believe the intent is to service the fishing fleet with storm warnings and general weather information. An AM might do the job better but allocations are tougher to get and interference problems are severe. The folks fishing around there are well out of range of the NOAA Weather Radio VHFs.
