FM Reception Report from Coca-Cola Park Allentown (9/17/2013)

I see that there are a lot of FM translators and so-called "God Broadcasters" around here. I only checked the AM for a few minutes or so. Just after sunset, I received WBZ-AM 1030 (Boston) and WTIC-AM 1080 (Hartford) just fine. One of the local AM stations just about overloaded the top third of the AM dial, especially from 1300 AM and up. I checked the radio-locator website and couldn't figure out the station I kinda got on 93.9 FM. There was also a bit of multipath on the FM dial, even with the DX/Local switch on Local mode. Moving my headphone wire a few inches made a huge difference.

Nearest thing on 93.9 to there is a translator of WDIY, tho it might be drowned out there by 94.1, whose current call is WIP-FM.

KML-224, if you have $50, go to the nearest Radio Shack in Allentown and buy the Grundig G8 FM/AM/SW radio. It has a DSP chip inside it, and that scan would be LONG with that antenna it has. I can get 120-mile stuff any day with my Grundig G8 here in WA.

I live in central Connecticut, actually. I will, however, take your advice on the above radio. Thanks for the tip! :)

KML-224, neat post; Thanks for sharing your findings!

Fun Fact: Positively Different 107.5 Alive.fm (WBYN-FM) has been broadcasting for fifty years now, all in all and while originating from Boyertown, PA it covers the entire Lehigh Valley (where your "Gildan 2013 Triple-A National Championship baseball game" had been held, and actually reaches into eighteen Counties, throughout three States, all on 107.5fm, due to their 50,000 watt FM Signal (the maximum signal size permitted by The FCC in The State of Pennsylvania). Of course, they stream world-wide online nowadays too.

BTW: You may also like that they now air "The Sports Report," which is a recap of The Philadelphia Phillies, throughout the MLB Season, mornings, at approximately 6:50am, 7:50am & 8:45am, M-F. Enjoy!
