FM STATION IN POUGHKEEPSIE FOR SALE

Due to confidentially agreements, we will not know the answer until after the sale. The offering does not specifically say Poughkeepsie . It says near New York City, in the 101-200 market size. Poughkeepsie is only one possibility. It further states the owner must be not -for -profit. In Poughkeepsie, there is WVKR. The only other full power Poughkeepsie based non-com is WRHV 88.7.Of course, owner WMHT has to time share that frequency with New Paltz College’s WFNP. Nevertheless, I think WMHT has been having financial troubles, but I also would think the offering for sale would have to mention the time-share.

I'm thinking WNYX "The Connection" in Montgomery. Newburgh-Middletown is market #137. WNYX have been off the air for the better part of four weeks, reportedly due to financial problems. Maybe they (River Broadcasting) just want to get rid of the station instead of opting to continue losing money.

Don't believe its WNYX because they mention the new station is a AM/FM Radio station ....

There are no active construction permits for Poughkeepsie on AM or FM. The only thing I found within a 45 km area of Poughkeepsie was a CP for WWLE, Cornwall to move from 1170 to 1150 to facilitate a nighttime operation .On the FM side 102.5 is allocated for Rhinebeck to Grace Public Radio.

I think you're getting the two sale offers confused.

The $450,000 FM stand-alone "must establish non profit' status , just guessing is WNYX.

The $250,000 FM built, AM CP station pair could be WYNY and one of Bud's FM translators go to with it (It doesn't indicate if it is a full power FM or not.). The listing says "Town 70 miles north of New York, with 30,000 people in it"., and Middletown has 28,000 people and is about 70 miles away.
